Lost Mage

Lost Mage is my game for the Ludum Dare.

The game is about a mage that is lost in a cave somewhere.

You have to survive the wave of monsters incoming to kill you. For that, you have by your side your loyal staff, which you can use to shoot a magic electric ball.

Use W, A, S and D to move, mouse to target and left mouse button to shoot.

Lost Mage as a extension project in university

I used my Ludum Dare #54 game as a extension project in my university. I did this with a clear focus: disseminate how physics can do a impressive effect on digital games.

Note that when I say physics, I don't only mean collision effects or gravity, but also light and sound effects, that are waves that collide / passes through things.

Of course I could have made a much more physics-based game to enphasize this, but I believe Lost Mage is in a good spot.

What I aim to reach here is: make games with physics! It will make your games GREAT games.

If you haven't played my game yet, here it is: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/54/lost-mage

Just sharing my joy with the community

I'm happy to say that Lost Mage, my entry in this LD edition, received 10000 points as my extension project in university

This is absolutely incredible! I fell i'm on the way to be a really professional game designer.

What will you do next?

With the ratings deadline approaching, I keep thinking: what to do next?

I mean, what criteria are you going to use to decide whether to continue producing your games or not? How to overcome the idea that “the game isn’t even a big deal”?

I even have a lot of good ideas to implement in Lost Mage, but I don't know if it's really worth it.

Hey, what's up?!

How're you doing?

What are you making on this wait period? A new game? Participating on a new game jam? Studying?

Have you visited my game today? Please rate it!!

2 days left... what are you doing with your game?

Most of us are improving the jam game the best we can. Others are just... what are they doing? I'm one of the others, so... I'm here to talk about my next step on game development.

I'm working on a 4-bit game inspired in R Type (Nintendo) wih a friend. I have other projects on development to, but they are projects that I'm just using to learn more.

And did you have tried Lost Mage (and rated it)? Please, take a look!
