First entry on Ludum Dare

This is my first entry for the Ludum Dare and it’s pratically done!

Missing a nice background music and the final levels.

It’s finished!

Noir Game is finished, with soundtrack everything working! You can play it already!

Just to note, my animation was made using the Pyganim module, since I used Pygame for the entire project (and the awesome Sublime Text 2! Really, you should try it!)

Second LD

Sweet vacations, it will serve me well this time. Because it’s also Ludum Dare Time!

My second challenge.

Gonna run for the Jam with Pygame and some sort of engine I’m building myself. Paint.NET will be my friend for graphics (and maybe Photoshop, if necessary) and will try Musicshake for music, but I’m a completely noob on making songs.

Good luck everyone!

I’m in.

What’s so special about this edition? Friendship! The first time I jam with someone.

Construct 2 is my tool, he will be in charge of the sound.

Never used it for a competition, nor do I have much experience on it. But the fun of jams lies on the adventure.

Good luck everyone!

A Philosophical approach

Me and my friend rambled for lots of gameplays, but we’ve been agreeing ever since about the theme.

We will try to make something insightful, were 10 seconds means a lot for you.

The final Boss

… it’s a killing bug, blocking proper game exporting.

7 hours left and I’m desperate.

English spelling mistakes

Me and my friends made a typing game, but it contains grammatical errors.

Does it falls on the “typo” category? I mean, since typing is essentially the gameplay, I wonder if we are allowed to fix that for the Jam.
No features added, just words being corrected.

Any thoughts on that?

of course you are allowed to fix it, it’s like fixing some bug

I don’t like the overall rating

The overall rating should be calculated based on all other specific ratings. It just feels strange.

Wouldn’t this (unfairly) skew the higher ratings to games with humor?

I don’t think, There is quite a few thing that there isn’t in the rating but would add to the overall expeirence such as story.

Also as IHateATMFees said it would mess up the ratings.

I don’t know. The overall score allows you to put weight on certain things that heavily influenced the game. This wouldn’t be possible by just adding the sub scores. I rated a few very nice games that had no applicable rating in one or more categories, yet the overall score allows me to express that I liked them.

I find having a separate “overall” rating is pretty useful. There’s been several games I’ve voted which might have had significant flaws or shortcomings, yet still show more creativity and potential than the ratings might reflect — “the whole is more than the sum of its parts” and all that.

Greetings from Brazil!

I’m proud of participating on my 3rd official Ludum Dare! December 2012 and July of 2013 was very memorable events.
When the clocks hit midnight here, the competition will be officially started! 😀

Construct 2, Bfxr and Inskcape will be my only partners this time. New competitions always brings new experiences.

Good work everyone and… let’s do this! ^^

I got this so far

A Jam only works for me in a relaxed way.
Spend some hours with the family, eat properly, distract for a few hours…

This is the result of my work since the jam begun. However I’m a bit lost about the game’s objective.
You can basically shoot vinyls at vinyl players so they calm down and stop attacking you. But that’s it and it would be sad to have a boring game in the end, after all.

Why do we go outside everyday?

When the theme came out, I said "Fuck! What the hell I'm supposed to make?"

I didn't wanted to make a small rolling planet even thought it's super cool (and I mean it).

So after some hours, I though: what has been my whole world for the past year? And the answer was clear: my home.

My small home. It's my little, personal world. And I'm actually not fond of leaving the house, because there's nothing out there for me in this town.

Anyway, personal dramas asides, I made a small room and a guy that didn't wanted to leave (he is also a gamedev, what a coincidence!). Within a 48 hours constraint, you gotta go with what feels most familiar.

Say hello to my little doggie:dog: (she's cute) Why Go Outsideem! 23/em04em2017 19/em54_15.jpg

HOLY SHITS LOOK AT THOSE STATUS Why Go Outsideem! 23/em04em2017 19/em54_05.jpg

It was funny to see how those anxienty/self-esteem/etc meters made the game feel more... gamey. Without them, there would be just a tedious bedroom because, well, it is tedious. But we've all been there... lonely in your bedroom, feeling lost.

:floppy_disk:But HEY COME CHECK OUT THIS GAME!! 48 HOURS? THAT SOUNDS INSANE!
