I’m in!

This is my first game jam. I’m mostly a mobile developer, so I’ll probably make a mobile game, but one that will work on the web so all y’all can play it easily.

I’ll be using some combination of the following:

  • JS/Angular/Ionic
  • Sublime Text
  • QGIS/MapBox
  • Sketch
  • cfxr (didn’t know this was a thing until today)
  • itch.io

Monsters!

Once I finally decided what stack to use, I got off to a good start. I decided to go with Angular, because the board for my game is going to be too large to comfortably play on a phone. I might port it for tablets some time, but this will do for now. … And be easier to deploy.

I actually have a working game already, except that you can’t win and it’s super boring. But I’m still surprised I made it this far tonight. My main goal for Saturday is to actually figure out how the gameplay should work. That will probably be the most challenging part of the project.

I don’t want to let on too much about what the game is about, so I’ll just leave you with some monsters.
