Here's a little sneak peak of my game:

This was my first game jam, and I'm very happy with my submission. Unfortunately, I had to cut a lot of content near the end due to the shortage of time. Despite the cut content, I managed to complete and publish my game. As a developer, I learned a lot from this jam, and I look forward to participating in the next game-jam this October.
Be sure to check out my game and give me some feedback! Link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/vitalgun

Sorry for the self-promo, but this was my first gamejam and I need as much feedback as possible. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/vitalgun

Finished the player movement and level layout last night, time to finish the gameplay.

After a long afternoon of work I finally got the full gameplay loop done! The player can escape the map by finding the dropship, or die after reaching 0 HP. I also got the radar fully working and it runs out of battery fast adding to the tension. Tomorrow will be all about polish, as well as adding some pickups to replenish HP, ammo, and batteries for the radar. This is shaping up to be my best game jam game ever, can't wait to finish the game and share it with you all!

Starting to look like a horror game
Item pickups are now in the game! You'll no longer have to worry about running out of ammo, health, and your all-important radar battery (providing you can find the pickups, of course). Once I add random item spawns the game is basically done, and I might expand the map a bit while I'm at it.

After dozens of playthroughs I realized that the game was a tad bit too easy. The dropship used to spawn in either the top, bottom, or side rooms which essentially gave the player the chance at having a straight shot to the ship, which isn't fun. I solved this issue by adding the dropship spawn rooms to the corners of the map, making it harder to pick the correct direction on accident. It also has the added benefit of increasing the average playtime per run as well. The game is now complete and I'll be working on making the itch.io page fancy and once thats done the game will be released! I can't wait for you all to play it :)

I finished my game with roughly 24 hours to spare! Click the link and play, if you dare.... >:)
