#YOGO
I thought I was going to do the Jam w/ some people (or a person), but it seems like I’m going to be alone, so I guess I’ll just do the compo! Guess things are going to get started ASAP, shouldn’t waste time blogging. Good luck everyone!

Cool! I partnered up with my friend since 3rd or 4th grade from Dayton, Ohio; so now I’m just doing the jam. We have made games together since middle school? and have never really finished a project before. Since then I have made a few game projects that have been finished on my own and he went to school for Comp Sci, so this will hopefully be the first finished game that we’ve ever made together. We are going to make a puzzle game in FlashPunk about You Only Getting One. ^ Above is a picture of Mike making something one w/ his hands.

This is some super secret Google+ Hangouts information that you can’t see cuz of the watermark. I’m the Snoopy guy, he’s the default image guy. Half of us working on this has been him explaining to me how GitHub works so we can transfer files. The other half has been doodling square and talking about late 00’s 4chan memes and how Rick Roll is an actually good song (why else would it have a music video?).
^ That is a few screenshot of some stuff I was making for the compo before I had a team. I’m basically going to be making a more fleshed out idea about what I was going to do for the compo, but instead for the jam the game won’t have a duck avatar, won’t have any real player avatar (so we think now [hahaha]), will be made with an extra person (who will be coding [in flash {and the game won’t be in Multimedia Fusion 2}]), and will be more fun and chill to make instead of me stressing about how good my duck animations & coding skills will be.

Right now we are taking a break so I can blog and we can both get some stuff to eat because we both know the hours will be long before this game is over. Have fun everyone and remember that gaming is the best medium ever and is so superior to movies and books. We are all here to learn a lot and to make friends. <3
So my friend I was doing the jam with dropped out without telling me.
I still want to participate in Ludum Dare, but we were going to do something that he could code and I could just do the graphics for. With only 3 hours left for the compo I should either make something really quick by myself or take the extra day to do the jam.
Welp, either way, I better get cracking with Multimedia Fusion 2.
Uh, so basically I wanted to do something with the idea of becoming whole. Lets see if this will be programmed in under 3 hours. >_<
I won’t be done for the comp, so I’ll just finish it for the jam. Right now I feel like those times in high school/college when there is an extra credit project due and I didn’t finish it and I just finish it for myself because I feel disappointed in my previous failure. Hopefully this will be a learning experience and next time I will prepare myself for the compo, make sure I take work off, and make a bunch of games between now and a year from now.
Right now this game is sort of like a metroidvania or an action adventure style puzzle game where the player has to collect keys and flick switches in a specific order in order to complete the level by only going up and down. Right now I am having trouble with KnP because whenever I hit this door I created the player character moves right through the door. I wanted the player character to be stationary and the environment to move around them, so I think this has to do with the fact that I made the entire environment the player. Maybe if I get the environment to scroll it will all work out okay.
So I got the basic set of obstacles and character interactions and I’ve just been making levels for the past day. I also made a short title screen and intro animation of a dot expanding into a line. Even though this game doesn’t really represent reality in any way I feel as though this is the most traditional game I have ever made just because of how much it relies on level design, pacing, and difficulty. I’m excited for people to play it!
