Also, here’s a pic of my game jam work space. Redd’s Apple Ale FTW!!!

I finished & submitted my first game for Ludum Dare 29!

This is my third Ludum Dare, but the other two were complete failures. I attacked the jam this time with a friend of mine. We divided the design and the programming. I did the art as well. I was really sad that we didn’t have time to add sound or additional levels. But overall I am really proud of us and happy to have submitted my first game.

Orgog’s Prison – Submitted with just seconds to spare!

Hello,

The game I created for the compo is called “Orgog’s Prison”.

It’s inspired by the arcade game “Berzerk” and Atari version of “Gauntlet”. Those games were created using ancient technology.

I created it using Construct 2 and Pyxel Edit. I hope you enjoy.

You are a dwarf that must go from room to room defending yourself against the orcs by slinging axes.

Defend One Room – Check it out

My game is for the compo. The theme this time around didn’t inspire too much creativity for me. But I feel really good about my game regardless.

It’s a pretty simple tower defense with a mechanic that is a little different than most. Each wave is a number of towers that is “ideal” for the wave (a par like in golf). If you build less towers than the par you get a health bonus on your building. If you build more towers than the par your building takes extra damage.

There is 1 bug that I couldn’t extinguish before submission. Sometimes after a wave is finished, the game thinks there is still 1 or 2 enemies in the level, when there is not. So the game gets stuck. I put in a cheat though to get passed it. So if you get stuck, just press the “x” key once or twice.

Check it out!
