My MiniLD #58 Entry

I didn’t do anything too special on mine, it’s pretty much just a PONG clone. This was my first Ludum Dare and I had a lot of fun! I can’t wait for the main Ludum Dare coming up!

This is going to be my first full Ludum Dare, and I’m really looking forward to it! I’ve been watching the countdown for it since January. Crazy anticipation!!
TOOLS
I’m hoping for a nice finished game, that’s plenty-o-fun, and fits the theme.
What theme am I hoping for? “You have no weapons”, or “You are the enemy.”
So far I have this done:
I’m trying to make a tower defense game in at least one day. So far you can place down towers and spend money. There are no enemies yet, but if they reach the end of the trail your money will go down. If your money runs out, (from spending or the monsters) it will do this!
It’s always fun when you accidentally make a demonic “GAME OVER!” screen….
I kinda sorta have an idea.. maybe…
I got an idea about rolling a huge ball around and using it to crush zombies. Then, I got an another idea from that of kicking a soccer ball at the zombies. (More unconventional of an idea.) After thinking for a while, I got an idea of picking up a cat and taking it over to the zombies. This would make the cat go crazy and start attacking the zombies.
My game, Unconventional Zombie Slayer, is done! This was my first Ludum Dare.

Only goal this time is to have fun! (And not be terrible..) On LD32 I did terribly due to getting over-hyped up months before. This time, I forgot about Ludum Dare until just yesterday.
Here are my tools:
Sound: SFXR / BFXR
Editor: Notepad++
Language: JavaScript / HTML5
Graphics: Anything I can get my hands on.
Preference on theme: Don’t care, as long as I can make a game with it.
I’m surprised we got as far as we did in the time we did!
My team interpreted the theme as slightly more like “You are the Villain.” The idea was that the ghostbusters, (or monster-busters), are coming into your castle. You hire other monsters and setup traps to defend you as they work their way up to the top, where you are. The art isn’t finished, but mechanics of moving along and climbing ladders are there.
The “monster-buster” will move slower in the game, but I wanted to save space on the GIF.
“Salvatore”, our lazy main character who’s to lazy fight for himself, but terrified of death by the good guys. He hires the typical halloween-style monsters to stop the monster-busters from reaching his floor. As seen in the picture, he needs to brush his teeth more.
