LD27

Hello everybody! Guess we’re in too.

Have been playing LD entries for a while, had great fun. Now we decided to try to finish something in 48 (72 as we are a team and will take part in a Jam) hours – still sounds crazy!

We have a programmer, an artist and a designer-who-does-the-rest. Maybe someone else will join us later.

We’ll be using:

  • Symphony Engine (in-house, cross-platform, so Mac and Win will be our target platforms with maybe an .apk if we get to it)
  • Photoshop, 3ds Max
  • Audacity, Audition (will check out sfxr too)
  • Kinemac
  • Visual Studio, Sublime Text
  • Smultron, Notepad++

Have no idea if we gonna make it, but we’ll surely have some fun 😉

A question on updating an entry (is it a bugfix?)

Hello everyone!

Our entry, The Wrong Door, is generally well received, but there is a change people requested:

Pause between retries is too long (you have to wait for the sound to finish playing, and it is a bit long), and you have to retry a lot.

We could easily fix that (playing a shorter sound!), but will it go against the rules?

The Wrong Door

Thanks, team at Tangible Games.

Fix the problem, but make it for an additional version, clearly marked as “post-compo fix version” or so.

Our second LD!

Hello everybody! We’re in again. Missed last LD, won’t repeat that mistake this time!

Again we’ll work as a team, using our own tech, but now we plan to make builds simultaneously for Win, Mac and Android to – hopefully – reach a wider audience (and get moar votez, moar!)

Cheers,

Team @ Tangible Games

Versus. Our Ludum Dare 31 Entry.

Now it looks like we are gonna make it, so I am posting this teaser pic. Stay tuned!

Cheers, team at Tangible Games.

Let’s play our LD 31 entry “Versus” together!

Our LD31 entry is online only, meaning that you need a friend on another computer (Mac or PC) or someone else to play with.

So, we decided to set a time to play with people who may want to rate our game online.

The counter is on our game’s page.

If you are interested, we’ll be online!

Update: Over for today! See you next time! Probably, tomorrow!

Are we in?!

…Looks like we are! Yes, we have lots on our plate these days, and time is something of a luxury. But we want to take part in LD32. I am speaking on behalf of the whole team here, and I may be the driving force behind our participation, but we are all ready to shine.

Fingers crossed, we’ll have a motivating theme this time! Motivation is important for us, we have finished two of the three LD’s we participated in, and motivation was the key.

We’ll be using our usual toolset, that is our own and beloved Symphony Engine, text editors, some 2d or 3d graphics packages…

We aim to keep it simple (yeah, really) this time to be sure we have a finished game, because we like complete experiences.

We wish best of luck to everyone!

Hitchhiker’s Tales – Our Jam entry

character

Phew! We have completed our LD32 entry. This time our team had one programmer and one designer (no artists at all, not our usual style), two people in total.

We lost more than half a day trying to flesh out the idea we thought was promising about using propaganda as a weapon. Then we spent some more time… We almost gave up. But. But! Even after spending less time on the game than we could, but we still like the result.

Our game tells the story of an anonymous hitchhiker in a desert fighting evil aliens. It’s fun!

Art and sound was created by the designer (me), and programmer (Dmitry) wrote lots of code, and that code actually works!

We’ll add version for OS X tomorrow, currently our game is Windows only.

Here it is!

LD35

Morning everyone (We are in)

Hi fellow LD’ers!

We are in, and we just woke up. Thank the Jam’s long 72 hours for letting us stick to our sleeping habits on day one. Not much sleep left for us during the next ~60 hours, I am afraid…

We are in, and we voted against Shapeshift, and those of you who voted for it, I want to tell you it’s all your fault! Guess we’ll score low on theme this time, but we’ll try.

We are in and… Tools, have to tell about tools. Well, our own Symphony Engine will do, as id did since 2009 (it was April, I suppose, we may dedicate our game to it).

Also, PS/Pickle/Sketch/Sublime/Audition/xCode/VisualStudio

And we’ll eat and drink too, a luxury for every LD’er that we can afford to afford or something.

Thanks for reading! Here’s to hope this little note didn’t offend anyone. See you during voting!
