I’m in! :D

Hopefully this post will force me to release -something- of a game.

  • Javascript
  • Paint.NET
  • sfxr/audacity/microphone?
  • Attempt at vim

Released!

I’m quite happy with the result. The art is better than what I initially expected myself to create. Also the performance of Javascript+canvas in the game wasn’t a problem -at all-. All browsers I’ve tested (Chrome,Firefox,Opera) are running the game quite fluently… I wasn’t really expecting that. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to make some sounds or music.

I’m in

Yay, another ludum! I’m just here to say I’m in…

I’m using: Javascript, Sublime-Text, Paint.NET and hopefully sfxr.

I’M IN! (again)

So another Ludum… interesting to know what will happen this time!

This time I’m again using the same mini-framework from last time to create a HTML/JS game. You can find the code of the previous entry here: https://github.com/FrozenCow/evolutionarydesigner

Tools:

  • Paint.NET, Gimp, whatever suits best
  • Sublime-Text 2
  • SFXR, Audacity, my mouth and other stuff I’ve got laying around
  • LMMS(?)… I’m not sure yet, hopefully I have time for music composing this time

Everyone good luck! 😉

Made it! (oh also, I’m in!)

Started off the first day working on a game that in the end was way too difficult in 48h. I thought to switch to a runner-type game, but in the end made something entirely different: Line Surfer.

You can find Line Surfer here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-26/?action=preview&uid=8435

I’m in!

Plan for the weekend is to make a multiplayer game, but we’ll see how that’ll go…

Stuff I’ll be using:

  • Javascript
  • Sublime
  • Paint.NET

Finished!

Well, sort of. The game works and includes multiplayer! Yay!

I struggled with the theme (again): Wario Ware was stuck in my head and I wanted something different. I can’t say the resulting game is very different from Wario Ware, but it isn’t exactly a clone neither. It includes 4 minigames where you can win/lose. Score is kept across the different minigames.

I couldn’t get to implementing sound correctly (due to multiplayer functionality). I’ll have to find a nice solution for this when doing another multiplayer game. Graphics are also somewhat lacking, it’s there, but can’t say it’s good.

Apart from all that, it’s quite fun to play and that was the goal, so I’m quite happy.

The game is implemented in pure Javascript, in the browser and on the server (nodejs). It uses websockets to communicate between client and server.

I’m in!

My 7th time attending! It never gets old.

This time I’m again using Javascript/canvas with ‘framework’ from previous entries.

Tools:

  • Sublime Text 3
  • GIMP/Paint.NET
  • Wacom Tablet (maybe, first time using it)
  • sfxr for sound effects
  • Chirp? LMMS? for music… if I make it that far :-/
  • bash+scrot for screen-capture
  • Grooveshark/YouTube/DeadbeeF

Serious Surgery!

Yay! Game is done and I’m very happy with the result. This was my first time using a drawing tablet and it turned out to be much faster and a lot more fun to draw the assets.

Here is a screenshot:

I’d just like to say this game was really fun/funny. The graphics/sound effects really made this a special submission, good job!

Eh… I’m in!

A bit late, but whatever. Another ludum using Sublime+javascript+custom engine. This time however art was made using Inkscape instead of Gimp+tablet. The results aren’t too bad imo, but the game is a bit short, oh well. I got parallaxing in last minute though, yay!

Progress

I’m not sure where this is going, but the initial concept is there. I still need to think of progression in the game. Feedback is welcome!

Title screen

Last few hours for me. Title screen is ready, here is a preview:

Now to actually finish the game itself :/ It still lacks an ending, suggestions are welcome 😛

Derpzilla assets

Last weekend I found a nice workflow to draw the assets of Derpzilla. MyPaint is an excellent tool if you have a pen+tablet. It has an ‘infinite’ drawing space, so you can keep drawing various concepts until and look back what is best.

I’ve done this for Derpzilla as well and the result is one big canvas with all the try-outs and final assets. The result is fun to look back on. Take a look:

The timelapse is a nice addition to the canvas:
