Good luck to everyone else! It's crunch time! You can do it!
We patched some things, we balanced some numbers, and made stuff more amazing. Given the time left, we are pretty much calling this finished now.
Kobold Fishing is a GO!

Best of luck to you all and remember to have fun!
Thank you everyone, Kobold Fishing has reached 20 ratings, woo! We love all the feedback, good or bad, it's all very helpful as we consider what to do next!
Apologies from our team for not rating everyone in return, we are still very tired, and work has stolen us away again! We are catching up, and we will try to get to your games as soon as we can. To be honest it's all been a bit overwhelming seeing how our little kobolds bring cheer to so many of you!
For now, thank you everyone for all the positive vibes! This is a great community, and has been a fabulous learning experience for us too.

Hello! This is not a Ludum Dare game. Instead, it is for the Mini Jam 124: Warmth.
I know some of the fans of our game entry Kobold Fishing might be around here. This game instead has Spiders, and no yip yaps, sorry. But we wanted to share it anyway.
It's a generally wholesome, short visual novel about a spider named Carl, who is trying his best to host a tea party with some friends. But his anxiety, manifested as an evil Teapot, is threatening to destroy the party.
We hope it brings you a few smiles and offers some hope for when you find yourself in your own tea party situations. Enjoy!

@tristan-doell and me, @gawain-doell are back in jam mode. Going to team up for the 3 day jam. We have some silly ideas but I guess we will see what floats come theme announcement tomorrow. Good luck everyone, buckle up, and let's all enjoy the ride!
Just a reminder that in a lot of browsers you need to refresh the page to see the clock accurately! Sometimes the browser doesn't run the clock properly (seems to be related to like, edge sleeping the tab or whatever). So "press refresh and start again" when checking it!
Also, for mobile users, the PC layout has a live clock! So if possible, do check the site using a PC or Laptop instead of your phone if you need the exact jam time.
The last thing you ever want to do is think you have like 7 hours left at end of the 2 or 3 days and then oops, actually you missed it all too bad welcome to the late submit train. So always remember, "Now you're a hero, press refresh and start again!"
(And now I've aged myself in public, lol. I don't know if "You Have to Burn the Rope" is even around anymore. Oh well.)

So...we are pretty stuck on the theme, and just moving on to make random and worry about theme later. I made an orbiting rope thingy that can be tossed away with an input. Our idea isn't solid but we are currently thinking this could become some kind of delivery game where you need to time tossing at houses around the screen edge. It is late and we are kind of burned out for the day so this is just where we are now.
Woo, Kobolds be sending packages your way. Note: Kobold is not responsible for damaged goods. Make sure you pack stuff correctly for kobolds magical fast shipping action!

Tutorial prompts on first toss, shows how chucking it works. Also houses and the bonus target (AKA the actual house the package should go to) Player gets 1 point for any house, and bonus point if the house is the correct one. Because of course the package is technically delivered even if the wrong house is hit. :joy_cat:

TLDR: Can we reuse icons if they are for accessibility or branding consistency? Or would it be better to make from scratch to keep to the spirit of the LD jam?
We make our games for an arcade we host at https://moonbowentertainment.itch.io/ One of the icons we use is a "mute" option button, with on and off state. In our other games we have just copied the same buttons from game to game to keep the options as consistent as possible.
However, we DO want to enter LD's graphics category with our jam entry from this time.
Should our artist have to spend the extra time drawing the sound button again from scratch?
LAUNCH! Happy to present to you Kobold Delivery Service!

Best of luck to all you last minute crunchers! You got this, really! Kobold is cheering for you!
Go help this one get a few more ratings!

This one was pretty cool. One of my favorites so far! It needs a few additional ratings to qualify for getting rated. No jump scares, just a great little puzzler about taking photos and exploring an old, abandoned factory. Go check it out and help them get to the 20 ratings!
Kobold Pet Shop is GO! You can check it out if you want a hopefully good time.

Look above at the beautiful art.
Had a blast using Dragon Ruby Game Engine again and going back and forth with my artist @tristan-doell at the speed of lightning. I can only say great things about working with the engine, every time I use it I keep being amazed at how smooth of a framework it is to build small games on/in.
We had the main game up and working early, so I took some of my time to make a composed music track for the game too. Got to learn how to use LMMS. Have to say I loved it, I grew up in Fruity Loops composing land so having this open source tool is a real treat! I am certainly open to making more kobold music in the future.
Anyway, we are going to wind down and relax. To everyone still jamming, we will be cheering you on! YOU GOT THIS!!
https://ldj.am/$392411 Go help, it's a really cool little puzzle game and needs more votes! :smiley_cat:
