Hello World! (how original…)
Well… I began with game programming few months ago and I love it
I am looking for some experience and bigger motivation to make nice game prototype (maybe something more than that? Who knows? xD) and I think LD will be the best option to get it
I am not able to spend whole 48 hours to do it because I am living in Poland where is another DST so competition finishes on monday for me (you know… school) but I am not scared… I know I am able to finish this
I am thinking about using my home greenscreen for keying the main character.
So… I am gonna use:
This will be my first LD entry so wish me luck
Almost forgot… my programming cave:

Well I needed to sleep after theme announcement.
Got Idea and I am ready to make “Mr. Cylinder”.

Little progress video. Many things will be added 😉
Well too much time spended on collision (7 hours!) and too many things left to do. Idea was too big for amateur like me and I failed but I learned many things. I’m going to add welcome screen, ending screen and release it as unfinished. See you in next Ludum Dare! (or miniLD?)
You can see the timelapse of making “Mr. Cylinder”

After fail with 25 Ludum Dare I’m in again!
Learned much from last time and now I am making games with Java and Slick2D!
Can’t wait for theme announcement !

I am livestreaming my 3 hours warmup.

I made a simple game called “Road Crosser” to test slick2D and my tools.

Does someone had a problem with slick2d applets?
You can see the error here: https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/LUDUMDARE/RoadCrosser-26WP/applet/index.html?w=AACo6Ts48uiS6d4T8YCzHbam0s4PhuRDGv16CDPCRWRRLQ
Does someone have a solution?
Yes!

My totally minimalistic game is submitted!
I know it’s very fast but whole idea is done (and I have also my school programming project to finish)
Maybe I am going to update it in future.
I have fully finished my entry for this ludum dare.
Screenshot from “Out of darkness”

As you can see, game is 100% minimalistic
My first Ludum Dare (25) was a shameful fail. I wanted to do too much things for 48 hours and not having much experience with programming. So I decided to make a simple game in next Ludum Dare… and there it is – “Out Of Darkness”
Theme was great for my plan. The goal is to escape from darkness by only hearing sounds and seeing light.
The most minimalistic way to make a game
What went right:
What went wrong:
Conclusion:
I love this competition and I will participate until I die. I have still much things to learn but I like it! In the future I need to plan next Ludum Dare weekend 2 weeks earlier.
Joining Ludum Dare third time! I spended this time learning , learning, learning… (OpenGL and other stuff)
Language: Java
IDE: Eclipse
Library: libGDX or LWJGL (it depends on my idea for announced theme)
Tools: Pyxel Edit, Paint .NET, Photoshop, Audacity, Sfxr
My previous entries:
)I’m soooo motivated to participate!
See you!
I was thinking about making one big package with all top 100 Ludum Dare 27 games and call it…
LudumCade
What are you thinking about this?
Was something like this made before?
