I'm in, for the first time!

This is the first game jam I've ever joined so I have no idea what I'm getting myself into. Will be working alone, that's my style. I'm joining to see how I can handle such a small deadline, and to get back the energy I need to work on my bigger project. And of course I'm here to have fun, too!

Confusion about the schedule

I'm a bit confused because the schedule says that the jam lasts from saturday to tuesday, but the Rules-page states that the game is made in a weekend. So which one is it? Two or four days?

Blessings of limitations

Limitations of my imagination that is. All I can think of is a hack and slash/shoot em up type of game, so that's what'll it be. I hope nobody has a problem with lo-fi gore, because that's what's on my menu. I guess first jams demand simplest of ideas, so slaughtering things for a greater life-sapping goal is what I'll be making.

Today's reward

Oh, boy. It's now been roughly 12 hours since I started working on this project. It has game logic, sounds, basic test scene and an endlessly growing army of hellspawn. I guess it's going to be something like Gauntlet. As for the jam's theme itself, I might have to go the classic "gather souls from enemies to progress" type of thing. I might have bit more than I can chew so there's not going to be anything much deeper than that. Blasting beasts with a shotgun (and possibly chopping them with an axe) while making your way out of damnation.

I'm doing it!

Oh, my lord. It's been a long two days, but I'm getting there. Now I just have to finish the third and final enemy type, create three small arena levels and make the game over/you win screens. I can do that in 24 hours, right!? Oh, right, this jam also had a theme. I guess "collect enough souls to reach the next level" is good enough. I've been too hyped while working on this jam so I keep forgetting the actual theme I'm supposed to work with.

Breaker is done!

Go play it! Break it! It's a mess, it's loud, it has no music! Put on some Judas Priest and go mad!

Ludum Dare 46

I'm back!

Time to make another game. Hopefully the theme's gonna be fun as well. I'm sorta hoping for a theme that fits a horror game since that's been on my mind for a good while. I missed the last jam, so now I got double the motivation to work and make something for everyone to play. Gonna be working alone as always.
