Going in, success minimal
Hey, look, my first LD. Going to be using a combination of Paint.net, Subline Text, and LOVE2D.

Shamefully, I spent most of the day goofing off instead of making something, well, presentable…

Er…
The morning started off pretty badly with me oversleeping (and terribly, at that!) Coupled with an odd feeling nausea I ended up goofing off for the next few (incredibly valuable) hours. A walk or two around the neighborhood helped push me along to something more concrete which the next progress shot should show. As it is I’m running out of time to get the features I need in before I can start adding the content and polish.
Sunday’s going to be absolute hell
Lava! I intended for this to be one of the evolutionary rules the dungeon would develop after a few floors. It was fun figuring out how to generate that without making LOVE2D hang. The procedure for it is extremely basic and probably very unoptimized, as it doesn’t appear that it’s undergoing tail-call recursion.
Given the extremely limited amount of time I have as of this posting, I’ll likely finish up a few more things with this game before throwing in the towel (and the code up on github, of course.) A shame, but I feel like I’m paying the price for having to figure out most, if not just about everything on the spot. That is, collision detection, rendering, that sort of thing.
