LD 42

Ludum Dare 42, here I come!

Ludum Dare 42 will be my first Ludum Dare... no wait, my first game jam in general. So, as you'd expect, I can't wait to jump right in. I've always wondered though: why are there so many 2D games? I mean, I have no problem with them, I enjoy them, but couldn't we be more creative?

I will be making my games using the following: 1. Unity (Been using Unreal for a while, but switched to Unity) 2. Blender (For 3D modelling) 3. Bosca Ceoil (For that nostalgic game music)

Is there something else I should use for the sound effects? I'm quite new to game development, so if you can, give some advice! :)

I'm aiming high, in case I fall short

After a lot of idea generation last night (WAST), I finally settled on an idea: You're teleported into a computer, and the only way to get out is to import a frontdoor (Not the hacking backdoor which lets you in. See what I did there?). However, there are different levels of useless data that are taking up space. So the game is simple: Destroy all useless data. However, if you wait too long, the data makes more useless data, using up more space.

If your computer runs out of space, you lose. :)

I'm entering the compo, so I'd better get going.

Well, I'm Stuck

I switched from Unity to Unreal Engine, and I figured that LD42 would be a good place to get better at using the Engine. Now, i've run into a problem that the internet doesn't have a solution for. ;-;

Anyone With Unreal c++ Experience Help?

I’m trying to call a function from another actor in an OnHit function (c++), but OtherActor returns an AActor, not the class in which the function is located, AData (or a subclass of it).

I haven't found any solution on the Internet, so i'm turning here for help.

LD 43

Back For More! (c ^ - ^)/

My first LD was LD42. Funny story actually: I finished making my game, feeling quite good about it, and decided to submit it (obviously). I wanted to host a direct download link on Google Drive, but...

20 hrs till upload finishes. 1hr submission time.

Yeah. I was in trouble. So I just gave up and let my friends play it later! :'( Looking forward to this one!
