Ralph’s PowerComputer is under attack by robot zombies! He has to fight them off alone, but his PowerComputer is capable of granting him special powers and new weapons, but only for 10 seconds at a time.

Shifting levels and jumping!

24 hours into the 48 hour compo.
Here are a few screenshots smashed together in a way that should look better…
So far I have my first ever physics engine working, allowing Ralph to walk, jump, and fall.
You can also see that the terrain is different in each capture because the stage shifts randomly every 10 seconds.
Next step is giving Ralph a weapon, then adding enemy robot zombies. Zomboids? Zomborgs?

How do Rotate?

I must have spent a few hours trying to figure out how to rotate a sprite in Monogame/XNA and I still didn’t figure it out. Oh well, good old Ralph can now fire in any of 2 directions to defend his PowerComputer from the Zomborg hordes.

Here's a 10-second composition I threw together

Here’s a 10-second composition I threw together

–  MORE COFFEE!!
– Better/more graphics

Looking forward to checking all the other submissions!

Just pass a rotation into SpriteBatch.Draw() or is monogame a layer ontop of XNA?

Too many Zomboids!

Help, I haven’t implemented a way to kill them yet!TooMany

My first AI <3

Just finished my first good bit of AI: enemy Zomboids rush towards their target, Ralph’s PowerComputer, and they are capable of turning around and jumping up to platforms if their objective is above them. Seeing this happen for the first time was amazing! If I gain nothing else from this Ludum Dare I will still be extremely happy with my work on this bit of my entry.

I can’t wait to see it in action!

LD32

It’s finally here!

I’ve actually had an idea for this game for a while! You will play as a robot whose only means to defend himself is his movement thrusters.

Here’s what I will be using:

  • Unity3d (2D?)
  • Paint.net
  • GIMP
  • sfxr maybe
  • Music Creator 6? probably not
