Day 1 Progress Report.

gametest.gif At the end of day one, I've mostly finished the game engine, and im going to focus on polishing and assets tomorrow. The idea is that you have to keep working on your computer, while trash fills up your room. Melting the garbage takes away the risk of getting engulfed by the trash and losing, but the heat impacts how much time you have to work before you lose. To counterbalance this, you can open a window to more quickly cool down the room, but you cant melt or work while you're doing this, nor can you use the window while using the heat.

Day 1 Progress Update 1.5

gametest2.gif I've added a stamina meter, as well as slowing down the speed at which the work meter goes down. shooter1.gif After deciding that the main game wasn't enough, I've added a second game. In Shooter, you must protect yourself from falling rocks, and pushing the walls back so they don't crush you. Every 5 seconds, your bullet speed gets faster, but also the speed that the walls move in, and the time in between rocks.

I'm thinking of adding a third game, in which you are trying to survive as long as you can in a room in which the floor under you is constantly falling.

My game has been submitted!

I kinda wanted to add more, but it felt finished, but I did add some easter eggs in the game if you want to look for them! Hope you all have fun with it! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/computer-funfare shooterpic.png title.png burnout.png Rodgerpic.png

I've added a new game to my entry!

I've decided to make a quick Demake/Update to the Rodger game from Computer Funfare, I hope you guys check it out! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/computer-funfare

Bug Fixes to Computer Funfare.

I've found and been told about several bugs in the 1.0 release, however, I've added a 2.0 release to the Gamejolt the fixes the bugs, check it out! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/computer-funfare

End of Day 2, kind of disapointed.

I'm making a short little platformer game that starts in a cave and ends on the moon, and you can spend your life to get upgrades to your weapons or whatever. I'm really disappointed with my implementation of the theme, as its as basic as it comes, and its not the main focus of the game, however its too late to change it now. I was really hoping to have this done for the Compo, but I just couldn't get the idea I had for this game done in time, hope I can make a semi finished game for the Jam. I don't even have the levels finished, let alone the sound or music.

here's a clip of me playing what I have so far.

Nearing the end of Day 1

Didn't get to work over the course of last night when the theme was announced, but I got a nice chunk done early this morning. The concept is a survival highscore type game, where you get more points for the deeper sleep you're in. Things across your room keep happening waking you up more and more, and potentially waking up you up completely, ending your game. Most of the day was spent getting the boiler plate pygame code set up, and screwing around with how the game is going to be controlled. I ended up settling on A and D to move across the room, and the mouse to interact with objects. The rest of the day was spent drafting concepts and making some art, including the font.

Deep Sleep submitted!

Boy am I happy I finished this time. I chickened out of the last Jam I participated in so I'm super glad I actually finished on time for this one, especially since I was working with pygame, which I haven't used for more than a couple of small projects beforehand. I'd really appreciate it if you could take the time to try it out and rate it, it's a short survival highscore game so it's only as long as you make it last.
