This was my first ludum dare, and I really enjoyed it.
I was afraid I wouldn't be able to come up with something for this theme, but after about 15 minutes I came up with an idea.
A platformer survival shooter, where you play as a banana that has a weapon that fires tomatos. You have to knock down bananas, and tomatos that'll eat you if you don't eat them first :-D
I thought it was a funny idea, so I went ahead and made it :-)
Anyways, I was also surprised that I could make a proper playable game in such short time while having to make models, rig, and animate them.
The most challenging thing was making music. I panicked at that part, because I tried for hours to come up with something that would fit and sound good. I ended up making a short looping midi. It gets annoying to listen to, so I added a music on/off button in the main menu.
Next time I'll be more prepared, and learn a bit about music I hope :-)
Ludum dare was a challenge I thought I would fail, but I actually succeeded.
I had a few issues here and there, and a few ideas got scratched because they would have taken too much time to add and implement. But I'm happy with the end result :-)
I feel happy and really enjoyed it. I really want to join the next ludum dare if I got the time :-)
