So far so good :-)

I'm in the jam :-D

So far I've made the player model and the weapon. Made a lot of progress day 1, so I'm half way there :-) Still need to make the enemy models, rig, and animate them. And a few more features :-)

Not sure about the name yet, or if I'm going to keep it :-)

To survive, you have to eat the enemies, or else you'll starve to death bananalicious.gif

First ludum dare jam done!

Bananalicious2.PNG

Hi everyone! This is the first time joining a ludum dare, and I managed to finish making a game :-)

The most challenging thing for me were music. The music ain't good, it is literally just a short looping midi I made. The models and rigging took a bit of time. The programming part was the easiest and fastest part, because that is where I've got the most experience.

It was actually really fun to make :-) I have tested the game a lot, but there might still be some undiscovered bugs. But I hope you enjoy anyway :-) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/bananalicious

I feel happy and enjoyment. I should join ludum dares more often

This was my first ludum dare, and I really enjoyed it. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to come up with something for this theme, but after about 15 minutes I came up with an idea. A platformer survival shooter, where you play as a banana that has a weapon that fires tomatos. You have to knock down bananas, and tomatos that'll eat you if you don't eat them first :-D I thought it was a funny idea, so I went ahead and made it :-)

Anyways, I was also surprised that I could make a proper playable game in such short time while having to make models, rig, and animate them.

The most challenging thing was making music. I panicked at that part, because I tried for hours to come up with something that would fit and sound good. I ended up making a short looping midi. It gets annoying to listen to, so I added a music on/off button in the main menu.

Next time I'll be more prepared, and learn a bit about music I hope :-)

Ludum dare was a challenge I thought I would fail, but I actually succeeded.

I had a few issues here and there, and a few ideas got scratched because they would have taken too much time to add and implement. But I'm happy with the end result :-)

I feel happy and really enjoyed it. I really want to join the next ludum dare if I got the time :-)

Check out and rate my first ld game

Hello everyone, this is my first ludum dare and I managed to finish a game in time. I would have added more to the game, but didn't have the time for it :-)

It is a game where you control a hungry banana that has a weapon that fires tomatos. You have to use it to knock down enemies so you can eat them. There's up to 10 waves. To survive you have to eat enemies to reduce your hunger.

Second Ludum dare. Not ready at all.

Right, so I totally forgot about Ludum Dare because I've been busy. Haven't got anything yet, and I have just figured out an idea.

So much stuff to do, so many hours lost. Last time I used Unity, and I just recently started learning Unreal Engine 4. And since this will be a perfect time to test out what I've learned, and will learn even more in the process, I'll be using Unreal Engine 4.

Hope I'll get something done, something playable atleast :-)

I'll be starting when I wake up, as it has gotten very late. Just setting up the project before I go to bed.

Day one gone. More stuff to do tomorrow

Despite being new to Unreal Engine 4, it went pretty well. I got a lot of stuff done. Converted all blueprint to C++ aswell. Now it will be easier to manage. Still need to add some proper textures to the boxes, and the truck.

Here's a little something(Don't mind the green lines, just debugging): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKzZJ3BuxhI

Second ludum dare. New game engine. But I managed to finish it

Cover.PNG Pic1.PNG

Hello!

This is my second Ludum Dare. I wasn't prepared. I was busy and I forgot when Ludum Dare was.

This time I wanted to try a new Game Engine, an engine that I've been using for about 2 weeks now. Unreal Engine 4. Last time I used Unity 3D, and I've been using that Game Engine since 2.x. I wanted to try something different, so I chose something I was still learning.

Making this game was fun and frustrating sometimes, because I was stuck on some things for a few hours. I'm surprised by the end result of the game. I didn't think I would actually get it finished in time. Of course the game could have used some better art, but art is not my strongest side, programming is.

Anyways, this is my Ludum Dare 42 entry, and it was very fun to participate again!

Joining the Jam, just woke up

Aight, so I just woke up. Now I want something to eat, and then I'll start the awesome adventure. Already got a few ideas so I'm excited! Oh man, I love sacrifices. Fantastic theme. Think I'm going for a puzzle game with a few levels :-)

Progress on Soul Reaper

Yo everyone, here's some progress on my LD Jam. It's a game where you have to harvest souls, and then use those souls to upgrade your weapon. But there's a catch (of course), the souls is what keeps you alive too. So if you have no souls left you'll die.

Since I'm not a modeller but have some experience with Blender, I just tried my best to make a reaper looking character.

Here's a video: https://youtu.be/Sj8gB8IOEXk

Yes there's an undiscovered bug in the end, already added to the list of bugs to fix :-D Sorry about the video quality, I was too lazy to install GeForce experience to get access to the built-in recorder. So I just found a random recorder :-P

Working on some UI

Working on some simple UI, nothing fancy but good enough :-)

Soul Reaper is done!

Hi everyone, I just finished developing Soul Reaper wuhuuu. Right, so this is a game where you are a Soul Reaper harvesting souls to survive. If you have no souls left, you're basically completely dead :-P

One more thing, you have to sacrifice some of your souls to upgrade your weapon :-)

This is my 3rd LD Jam and I really enjoyed doing it again, this is my favorite theme so far :-) Please rate and give me some feedback, and please if you find any bugs then comment and then maybe I can fix it before the jam ends :-)

Comment your games below and I'll take a look and play & rate them :-) Please play & rate mine if you'd like https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/soul-reaper Still need a few more ratings to get to 20 :-)

The reaper is waiting for ya LDJam Cover.png

Need a few more to 20

Hi there, you fancy being a reaper hunting for souls? Well you've come to the right place. In this game you'll be harvesting souls while on the lookout for soul guardians, they will rip the souls back from you.

Ya ain't got no souls? Well you're most likely very dead then :-)

If you leave a comment with your game, I'll check out your game aswell and rate :-)

Ludum Dare 45

A bit of progress.

Hey, woke up a bit late, but I made some progress :-) I'll make a character model later today, nothing fancy though. I got player movement, camera, health, stamina, attack system, knockback effect, camera shake done now.

Excited to see If I can do it in time. The game will only feature 3 levels though, if I can get them done in time :-) Will post a progress video tomorrow :-)

That's it for today!

I'm gonna call it a day :-)

Made some models, and some gameplay stuff. I tried to make the feeling of the game great. Tomorrow I'm going to work on the levels and more gameplay stuff :-)

Sadly I have to say goodbye

I just got too much stuff. I did enjoy working on it, but it also stressed me because there's so much content I have scrapped and I don't think I can get it to a proper fun gameplay state with the time I got. It was just too much work for me.

I had the idea where you start as a peasant, but you wanted to be more than that. So you would've had to work your way up to become a knight by defeating a farmer boss, then a bandit boss, and a knight boss. And for every boss you defeat, you get their clothes, weapon, and of course role. I wanted there to be dialog as well, and a intro cutscene for bosses.

Too much stuff. Initially I wanted it to be a platformer too, but because of time, I ended up with waves. Also all the art I made took a bit of time, since I'm not really an artist :-)

I got a new idea while writing this though, which has the same story but different gameplay. But no, I sadly can't make it in time so I won't try. I might try after the event is over and when I got some more time on my hand, at some point.

Anyways, good luck to everyone. I've seen a lot of cool games so far, can't wait to see more when the time ends :-)

Here is what I ended with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8qCRwIKVUg
