Leonardo Fraga

Ludum Dare 45

I just wanna share my despair...

Today, it has to be TODAY, my friend's wedding... I left at 4 PM, and just now, 11 PM I got home. Totally worth it, but, no sleep for the wicked!

Ludum Dare 46

I'm in, the let's go! Few good things to keep in mind.

  • You'll run out of time, so make it simpler.
  • Try to make your whole game in day one, and use the rest of your time to polish, not add new things. Believe me, we all prefer 2 minutes of a great polished game, than 30min with a full of feature buggy/ugly show
  • Thing ahead, and choose 3 core things to focus, like graphics, creativity, fun, etc...
  • Build your game a few times during the test fase. Don't try to build your game for the first time when you're done. You may find some eerie bugs that can rule you out in the end.
  • Balance OOP/Clean/GoodCode with Fast/CrazyCode thinking about time. If is something you'll go back to often, make it cleaner, it will actually save you time, if not, just do it in a way your professor would cry.
  • Take a few breaks, and don't thing about the project while doing so, try to really relax, you'll go back to work with a much clearer mind.

That's all, I hope we all made it! Let's create some weird games!!!

Coding, Coding!

Keep it Alive - Ludum Dare 46 - Leonardo Fraga.png

Basically no art done yet (using random images while a similar artstyle that I want), but coding is going better than expected!

I'm having a great game, and I hope you're having too :D

Probably too late for a hint, but here we go (Unity users)

If you have a slow PC like mine, and you need to create a lot of scripts at once (e.g WeaponOne, WeaponTwo, WeaponThree, etc..), to avoid being kept waiting every single script to load, just open an existing script, type some alsdjfoasij in it and save. Now you can create all the scripts you want without needing to wait. Then erase the alsdkfjas and you're all set!

I uploaded a web version of Lazy King.

03.png I understand that people are no really into downloading game, so I uploaded a web version of "Lazy King". I did three time as much work as I thought I could in 3 days, but didn't finish 30% of what I have planned. Still, it's playable, and perhaps you can have fun for a few short minutes.

And congratulations to you all, there are some pretty awesome games. And I like the most in jam games (which I don't have in my own games =/ ) is polishness. I'm impressed with a lot of games here.

Updated "The Lazy King", meet "The King's Gun Guy" :D

I barely finished the game for the jam, and I wanted to finish, I really wanted. So after a week I started seeing people uploading their projects. Oh boy I was happy to see that, and started fixing/finishing my game, and I happily did

Now to be really 100% happy with this, I want you to try it! I didn't uploaded a web version for this one, It wouldn't work properly, but it's a small download that would make me "big" happy!

Warning: WHEN RATING, REFER TO THE "THE LAZY KING" VERSION.

The game is essentially the same, but I almost didn't finish the first one, so there's a huge difference.

I tried by best here, hoping I would gave you guys some fun happy few minutes!

Cheers and congratulation to us all, we're awesome I must say

6 Stats Upgrades for each Weapon
