Great games out there!

Hey, I've seen some awesome games here, if you have a html5-webgame, make sure to leave a comment, so I can have a look at it. I just can't stop playing ... there's like everything: puzzles, shooters, typing, rythm, 3D, 2D, Tower Defense, .. Impressive! I'm glad I am part of this event and this awesome and constructive community.

Games I want to mention:

Dyeswap : FPS/match 3 styles Puzzle ; for great challenging puzzles

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/dyeswap

Rock Bottom : Runner/Visual Novel (great music)

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/rock-bottom ; for a touching mood and awesome music

last but not least Typer : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/ld-41-typer-word-search-x-top-down-arpg ; because crafting with letters is cool and I played it like 30 Minutes

And here is some gameplay of what I've done:

Not done yet :(

First time I missed the deadline of the ludum dare but this was a very ambitious projekt and it actually turned out so, so well; it's just very unbalanced and therefor unplayable. :S Just those 1-2 variables to change ... yea but we missed the deadline.

I'll try to upload "Feed the Beast" tomorrow.

Finally managed to fix the performance issues

That was a long search, but finally the game is playable at ~60fps (+ - 1 or 2 frames).

Still no idea :(

After 1h thinking yesterday + 1h after sleeping, I still have no idea what game I could make with this theme. I don't want to make a highscore game, because I want to make games with a dedicated ending. Also I don't want to copy anything from any other game ... like outer wilds, which is "the perfect time-loop game" in my opinion. Therefor I am stuck. Any help?

Murder Loop ?

Lets see where this one is going ^^

Active Ragdoll and Procedural Animation in 48h turned out really well (WebGL)

If you want to try out a physics based Run & Gun Game in WebGL - klick the link below.

Featuring: - A better checkpoint system than my (yet unfinished) commercial game (what a shame xD ) - Procedural Animations powered by PhysX - Dismemberment System - shoot off enemy limbs - shoot their arms to disarm them (hehe), shoot their legs to make them slower - 7 Rooms + 1 Bonus Room if you kept your Points with you

If you don't know what to do next, you can checkout the walkthrought in the comments

Fuck the ratings

Know what? We don't make games for numbers, we make games for people. And no matter how bad your ratings are, some people out there enjoyed your game and thats all you should care about.

I think ratings are like the grades in school, it doesn't tell you how good you are, it just gives you a reason to learn and here it's a reason to play other games. Who would sit down and play games after the jam is over, if there wasn't a rating system?

So if you think your game is awesome and you think about making it a commercial game but the ratings are just average - go for it. Chances are your game is awesome. And you shouldn't obey some numbers, you should only obey you.

PS: not talking about my own ratings here, they are fine, just don't waste your ideas because of some numbers - there are lots of brilliant games out there, if you didn't make it to the top 100, thats no reason to throw a good concept away.

Anyone got short games to play? HTML5(web) prefered

I just played a game for about 1.5h, it is absolutely awesome, you can check it out here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/descend-3

BUT I want to farm some feedback points and play some short games, something <10min . Post the link in the comment and I'll play it. ^^ All Genres welcome. :D

Her thoughts when the theme got announced:

Anime: Made in Abyss.

I just wanted to say that this years theme was actually cool, as well as the games submitted. ^^

Any other puzzle games out there?

Hi, I've played around 40-50 games by now and only encountered like one or two other puzzle games. So if you made a game that contains puzzles or is a puzzle game, please share the link and I'll play and rate it. ^^

Not a requirement but as you've made a jam game in the same genre, I'd highly appreciate your feedback on our turn&tile-based 2D puzzle game (if you want to ^^) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/webglhtml5-who-am-i
