Ludum Dare 48

One team, numbers, one game: 20,000 Light Years Deep In Sky

Two days after the jam is over, I analyze how the project went. I can't believe all the work done over these 72 hours. Initially, we had planned to spend 48 hours on the game, but the result on Monday morning was both very advanced but not finalized enough and we used the last day to do playstests, correct some bugs and make the experience as smooth as possible.

I think it's done, because the comments are focused on the visual, the music, the vocals but not on the controls. So the next time you comment on a game, if you're not bothered by the controls, leave a message to the programmer.

In a few numbers, 20,000 Light Years Deep In Sky is: - the 1st Ludum Dare for the team - 4 motivated people (a game designer, a musician, a graphic designer and a programmer) - 8 different planets with a musical theme and an audio commentary - 12 choices per planets, with a description - 1 png which summarizes your adventure (only on the windows version) - 1000 thanks for those who have and will test the game

WebGL is finally the same as desktop version

In addition to having fixed some minor bugs, I finally got to work the features that were not present because of WebGL, such as opening to our different portfolios and saving the adventure in PNG.

In a future version I am also thinking of making a bonus section where we can admire the soundtrack of the differents planets as well as the audio comments.

And of course, if you haven't tried the game yet, come and enjoy this experience. It lasts between 5 and 10 minutes and requires only a mouse to play.

A love letter to my team

We just publish our game for the Ludum dare 51. It's my second Ludum Dare and I want to thank all my team. They did wonderfull work during this 3 days. We want to did something different from our past jams, because we always did puzzle or management game and we want more action. So we did a little platformer game with a lot of love (litteraly). It was intense, with for example the sound artist being called for giving a concert saturday evening or with all the tests and bugs during development. I hope we fixed most of them and you enjoy play this little piece of game. Thank you Vidu for the art, Lexumpy for the charachter animation, CamCam for the music and the sounds, and Toki for the UX, the tests and various integration in Unity while I was coding. I want another jam soon!!!
