At least, I can’t do worse than last one.

That’s the spirit!

N00bs are so… n00b.

I tried to build from scrach a physics renderer with FlashPunk, a simple one, for a platformer.
I’m not proud of me, everything goes wrong, what I’ve done is so buggy that I’m seriously wondering about give up for this time.

a physics renderer? doesn’t flashpunk have a physics engine build in already (well, a basic one atleast)? and besides, if all else fails you could try a existing physics engine like nape or box2d. i JUST started my game now (like in the past hour) I wouldn’t give up if I were you; giving up gets you nowhere.

By give up, I mean accepting that my game will not work at time. I never really give up. 😉

The problem is that I don’t know the half of FP capabilities, and the tutorials are a little poor (video ones really needs a textual support, because it’s a little difficult to copy-paste code from a video, and more when the video is not HD), but anyway I can’t learn AND code at the same time, learn takes a lot of time, and to finish, english is not my langage, so that not helps.

And to use another physics engine, the same problem happens : I can’t code and learn how to use it at the same time…

I’m in…

Well, if no matter interferes, I’m in for the third time. I will probably use Haxe, maybe HaxePunk or Box2D, and Gimp/InkScape for GFX. I do not plan to add SFX nor music but if I change my mind I will probably use Audacity for that purpose.

Anyways, even if I fail to finish my participation, I will enthusiastically try your games. :)

Haxe seems like a cool language. I’d never even heard of it, but I looked it up and it looks nice.

Yes, Haxe is really a cool language, and I’m not the only one who will use it for LD#25, first of them will be his conceptor ncannasse*… 😉

I’m In

I’m In, yeah, sort of…

Like every time, I’ll try to make something that works, at least. However, chances are very poor that I make an astounding art piece. If I find an idea before saturday noon, it will be a great progress on my previous LDs. And if the final entry is the one I had in mind from the start, it will be a miracle. ^^

I will probably use the following softwares :

  • Haxe (and HaxePunk)
  • The Gimp and/or Inkscape
  • if I have time for sound, PixiTracker (or – if I’m optimistic – SunVox), and/or Audacity

Graveyard Keeper : Full Moon Edition

Hi !

If you tried my jam entry “Graveyard Keeper” and found it too easy to finish, you will probably want to try the post-compo version, which is a little harder. :)

Square Exit : did you rate it yet ?

I havn’t found the time to add something to my entry. But if you didn’t tested it yet, don’t be afraid to, it’s a puzzle, pretty simple to play (and, well, not (so) long to solve).

Whatever you decide, I wish you an happy new year !

Time out incoming…

Hello there !

Due to Internet problems (very low rate, random shut down, …), I had some difficulties to play entries for this jam, and I don't want to rate nor comment without playing an entry. So, I have only 8 ratings so far, and even by playing some games till tonight, I doubt that I would have the 20 needed to be noted. So, if you don't know what to do the next ten minutes, you could try and rate my entry (it's a web entry, no download needed). ;)

Enlarge Your Planet

Whatever you do, thank you to have read this post. :)

LD 39

I'm in :)

For my 14th participation, I'll do my best! I just hope the theme will inspire me (and not too late). I wish good luck and a lot of fun to all the LD community for that 39th edition!

well, to be honest it's my 15th one, but I had to give up my 13th atempt because I did not have any usefull idea until few hours before the end, and I was not able to make something functional before the deadline

Better late than never…

…But this time I'm very very late! I finally managed to add a framed version of my HTML5 entry, to give it a chance to be seen with the intended pixel size. My art was very poor, and I was OK with that. But with the auto-sized version I found it worse. So, if you played it you could want to see it with the intended size. And if you didn't try it yet… You still can rate it for yet few hours! :D

Shall they up? - Post Jam version

There is still no sound, but I fixed some bugs, and added some little stuff on my entry, based on the kind feedback I received (and for wich I thanks a lot those who took the time to try it and comment).
If you didn't rated it yet, you can find it here.
HTML5 game, few minutes to play ;)

LD 41

I'm in.

For my 16th LD (plus 1 give up) I should feel prepared, but… I'm not. Each time is a new way to improve knowledge of what I can do (and in peculiar discovering what I can do that I think I can't ^_^).
This time, I already know that I can slaughter all the themes. I wish I will discover other hidden skills. :D
And I wish you all to have very much fun doing this LD ! \o/

And here we are again… :(

What a good start : first bunch of 16 themes, half of them are mechanics limitations or mendatory elements. Hey guys, if you want to add some constraints on your game, go ahead, but don't force everyone to do the same… T_T

No, nothing.

Forget that. PEBKAC issue.

LD 42

I'm in.

For the 42th LD, it's almost mandatory to be in, when you are a Douglas Adams fan - like me. 😄
I just hope that this time, the theme will not be choosen by The Infinite Improbability Drive… 😒

LD42_Slaughter.png

And here we go again…

I have a bad feeling while I see wich themes are in the first round.
I was convinced that there could not be a worse theme than the one for LD41, but I'm afraid that I may be wrong…
Well, we'll see with the next rounds, but… Please… ç_ç

So, round 1 : I gave +1 to "Ancient world" and "Fragile", and -1 to all others.
A little of them because I don't like, but a very lot because these are NOT themes - as I said for the previous LD : if you like so much restrictive mechanics / kind of game, fell free to do so, but do not make this rule mandatory for everyone, thank you.

Ran out of time

As almost every LD, I didn't find any idea until saturday night. And this time, I didn't manage to finish something playable in time, due to my lack of skills, and because the idea I had was way more difficult to implement than I though at first (something like JazzBall). I'm stucked on a multiple bug/don't working things, and as this is with the main heart of the game, I can't even publish it as unfinished. It seems that Douglas Adams spirit was not with me.
It's a real pain for me, I spent so much time on this, and this is my 2d time giving up a LD. But, hey, I will not give up the LD as a whole, you'll probably see me in december.

I hope you have made a lot of awesome games, and I'm (almost) ashamed that I cant rate them.

Theme suggestions are open!

I like this time, when the upcoming event theme suggestions opens : it feels like the next LD is already starting right now
here are my suggestions for this LD
I think that since I'm doing this and until now, I viewed only one of my suggestions survive the slaughter of the same LD, and maybe two or three revived by someone else in following LD's theme suggestions. Each time I try to suggest what seems to be good themes, not especialy for me, but with a wide range of ideas and games kinds that can be done with - but obviously, given I'm failing almost each time, I guess I'm not so good to find good themes. Well, I'm OK with that, but I'm not giving up, I will try again over and over, with the hope to see one of my suggestions in the rounds again.
And you, what are your suggestions this time? What do you think about mine?

LD 44

Theme suggestions are open…

…But I don't have innovative ideas, so, well… Let's go with those. LD44_themes.png
