I'm in!
It's my first time and I'm struggling a bit.. but I hope I will find my way to deliver. Heads up!

Jesus, worst feeling ever when you try so much to find "THAT" idea but it won't come to you. Finally after few sketches and trying in Unity I got it. 150% power now and let's go!
Well, as this is my first LD and many of you participated before my feelings are mixed. I should probably enjoy the process of creation more, but what can I say.. I'm not high skilled but I will put all my heart to this LD game.
What's the game about?
Well.. top-down slasher where you protect the last gate to heaven. Inspired by Slavic's mythology Tree of life. You are playing as reaper that main goal is to kill evil souls before they reach portal in Tree and you have to allow good souls reach portal. For now there are 2 types of souls if time I will create more. It doesn't directly points on "Small World" theme but the tree is placed on kinda "small levitating world" and where you actually are is somewhere between mortal world and spiritual world. I will try to upload some screen in a while. More coffee and go!
So yeah, rotating the player, music, lots of graphics and coding needed yet, but whatever, let me share.
I'm still working and have power!

That was a rough day. It's time to load batteries. Few hours of sleep and I'm back. Goodluck to all who are staying late!
Guys, I need fast answer. Is music that is licensed on CC0 and will be slightly modified by pitching up will be fine for COMPO?
Thanks!
Ok never mind ;)
Well it's probably not the best advertisement.. there are many great games that are actually pretty cool like Tribal Tension etc.
LD changed something in my mind. It shows what can be achieved in so small amount of time. And my goal is to give 120% to improve and create next game and improve and so on.
You can link me your game in comment and I will make sure to play it and provide some feedback.
I can't wait till next Ludum Dare!
Thank you all you are all great.
Anyway check it, rate it and leave comment so I can play your game.
Thank you all.
Treekeeper compo gameHey, I wanted to share a word with you guys. 3 years ago I started learning game development. 1.5 year ago I participated in LD38 and finished my first crappy game. It was a great experience tho.
Now after few more gamejams stationary and online, working on a rpg game with a team over a year, and now working on my mobile game.. I feel like a totally different person. So I decided to participate LD43 (as I missed the previous one).
This is my tribute to myself and LD for kicking my ass over a 48h to deliver a game. Now I'm doing a JAM competition with a team! New challenges and experience to gain.
And I wanted to share my theme suggestions.. I couldn't come up with 3 ideas so only two there ;)

That was a tough first half of Ludum Dare! But a nice one so far.
One of the characters Callisto

And our sacrifice system..

And the icon game icon

Hope you like it guys ;)
Hey! A lot of you loved Ursa's soundtrack. Our beloved composer uploaded it to soundcloud.

If you haven't played Ursa yet, you should give it a try.
Why? It's an unique emotional adventure where you play as a little cub called Arcas whom is a personification of Ursa Minor constellation.

It's difficult to work on my own game full-time and find some time to create side projects... I am often very tired and you know it's good to play some games as well, not only create them :)
What do you think of my suggestions? The theme never fits me or rather when it's released I feel void in my head and usually sit around and die inside.
Let me know

As always I am not the only one that hates all the themes. Basically it's the tradition that theme has to suck. I always feel strong connection with everyone that also cries silently when the theme is announced and there's huuuuge void in your mind.
As always themes suck but I'll do it again and suffer for 48 or 72 hours and give a birth to something that in the end will be called "game".
Cheers to you all.

I attended at least few gamejams both online and stationary and once it's close to the 1st day of the jam I am getting anxious. I bet that's not only me. I always think that I don't have necessary skills to create a game in 48/72h and I can't even draw or model proper graphics. There's thousands of better programmers than me.
But in the end all of these doesn't matter. I start with a project template and a pencil. I draw concept. Write a small document and then things sort out.
So if you ever have thoughts like mine. Don't worry you're not alone. If I can do this then you can do this as well.
Good luck!
I got an idea, a solid template and my main goal and main struggle will be graphics. I am gonna learn a lot.
Here's a morning coffee sadly Gamescom isn't happening this year.
