I'm in (again)
Second time participating, although last time was still on the old website. That's why I have a new account. I'll probably use Unity. Wish everyone a lot of fun.

So I made some progress, but really need a break now. Can't concentrate when programming. I wanted to have at least something playable in the first few hours, but it wasn't meant to be. My game will be some kind of board game, where you have to capture territory similar to Go, although visually I going for something akin to Chess.
So it has been around 24h and I thought, I should show some more wip stuff. Game is starting to be playable. You have a main building that spawns pawns, which you have to move in order to gain territory. You can evolve these pawns to other units, each fullfilling a differnt role in the game and they are meant to counter each other. Don't have any AI or tutorial yet though, not even sound or a main menu. So there is still a lot to do...

Well sort of...A lot of stuff is missing, like an actual opponent (you'll have to play against yourself in this version), but overall I'm happy with the result. I might put some more work into the game after Ludum Dare, but for now, I'm done looking at code.
Am 235th in Innovotation and quite happy with the result. Thanks to everyone who rated the game and gave feedback.
I'm working on a new version of the game with more features and of course an AI opponent. If you want to know more about that follow me. All links are on my profile page.
Hi Ludum Dare folks. Today I uploaded a new version of my chess-go-hybrid game "The King‘s Board". The game has many more features and improvements compared to the original version: - AI opponent! (You can control both players in a separate mode called Hot Seat) - Music and more sound effects - Main Menu - Additional unit: Ranger - Towers can now be conquered by most units, except artillery unit - Improved UI and graphics
So as you can see, I put a lot of effort over the past month to bring the game in this state. You can play the new version in the browser on itch.io (https://martin-senges.itch.io/the-kings-board). If you like the game please leave a comment on the game‘s itch-page.

If you want to see how I developed the new version, watch the playlist on Youtube
That‘s it for now, see ya.
