Deeper Into the Mind

We are proud to present our entry into the Ludum Dare 48 game jam. This psychological shooter is a bullet fury, boss battle. Fight to the depths of your mind against all of your fears.
Working on this game was fun, challenging, exciting, stressful and most of all a great learning experience. Our team of four (Two programmers, a VFX artist and Sound composer) pumped out code, art, sounds, effects for 72 hours. It was beneficial to start with brainstorming and game doc development. The use of Trello, help us arrange the project and keep track of the tasks needed. Organization was key, because when the shit hit the fan, setback were tough , but we pushed through and had a good base to complete the challenge (literally within 5 minutes of the finish line. Phew! time for a long nap.
Making a game in 72 hours was a great way to force yourself to keep the game small. So many times when we (indie game devs) start a project with good intentions and realize that we add more and more features without seeing the scope of the game grow beyond control. This leads to rarely finishing a game. Having finished a game in one weekend is a great way to pare down the scope of a game and abstract just the essentials to make the game functional and fun.
