We're a giving a customized digital art to the first player that completes SURVABY!! If you do so, send us a screenshot of the winning screen. The digital art will include a customized cradle with the winner's name, a baby surrounded by zombies, baby skeletons and two different teddy bears, as well as other crazy props that couldn't make it into the game. We finished the rigging of our zombies and babies in the first 24 hours. So we had time to implement them in Unity, correct their movement, realize some other additional animation that was necessary (like peaceful babies), and, therefore, have 48 hours to also work on textures, lightning, UVs, game design, code, sounds, balance, etc. Our animation artist did a great job! When we started discussing the idea of a game that combines shooting zombies and nurturing babies, we knew the location of the elements would be really crucial. We soon realized that locating the player in the middle of two parallel mechanics was the best thing to do. That way, the player would be only able to focus on one mechanic at a time, impossible for her/him to control the other. But we needed something else to make sure the player knew something was going on behind. And there's where sound came in. We decided to use the crying of the baby and the zombie growl as a thread to bound both mechanics, so that the player is always aware that something bad is about to happen on his/her back. Though the crying of the babies and the zombies' growl might sometimes seem like a torture for the player, we kind of intended to emulate that experience from the beginning, offering the player a stressful situation, where no matter what he/she does, she/he will always feel out of control. I can't believe this Ludum Dare is finally coming to an end!

It's been an incredible experience! I'm amazed by the talent shown by the community. I've played some great games by now, but I'm willing to play some more and rate them while it all lasts.

I can't believe the game jam is actually ending... 😢

Being my first Ludum Dare I had no idea what the LD community was all about and I was amazed by its talent and good faith . Everyone was super respectful and nice and gave us a lot of valuable feedback. Thank you so much!! 😁

I really loved the theme 2 incompatible genres. That really helped us all think outside the box, which always gives the best results. GOOD THEME! 👏👏

Creating the game was as much fun as the PLAY+RATE GAMES time:

I found dozens of great games and learned a lot just by playing them. 👨‍🎓

Many comments helped me improve my skills as a game designer and others just made me laugh, while some really made my day. :D

I, too, made a lot of new friends, with whom I will keep in contact via Twitter and.. who knows? ..maybe make games in the future. 😸🎮😸

I wanted to thank the Ludum Dare organization for this amazing opportunity and event, and the community for their unbeliavable talent and solidarity. 👌👌
