Stoked to try this contest for the first time. Not sure about the theme yet (no bashing) but all I know is i will do a 2D… tossing around a few ideas in Pyxel Edit before I head into Unity.

Our team of Ludum Dare vets decided to try something a little crazy... a mash up card/rhythm/RPG game where you become a SUBSTITUTE DJ!

It's a pretty ambitious game for a small team but i think we (mostly) pulled it off. You have a deck of cards that each represent a different track. Slots pop up where you can play cards and the combination of cards you play makes the music different each time. As you progress in the game, the crowd becomes more varied (metaheads, classical lovers, etc) and you need to play all your different cards to keep them interested. Mash up a metal guitar riff with a classical violin and an EDM beat.
