Ludum Dare 47

Very happy to join for the 3rd time

Many gamejams, 3rd Ludum Dare. We probably going to join 6 friends together !

Here's my suggestions ;) ab.png

StuckyLoop

StuckyLoop is a game where the only way to go is forward. Dodge through fans/bars and laser to get as far as you can! Be sure to grab a couple powerUps from the shop when you die, it’ll make the next run much easier. The game is endless so you can play as much as you want. Actual content in the form of new pipes and increased difficulty has been implemented up to distance 5000. We do plan on adding much more post-jam.

The development was pretty smooth compared to other jams we’ve done. Experience taught us to keep the scope small so we liked the idea of a game that would be basically in a playble state from the first hour. We started by making a pipe manager that could spawn an endless amount of pipes. we only needed to create one pipe and slap the default unity character controller on a capsule to have a basicaly “playable” game. Then we worked on adding a couple different pipes, and a collision system. Later in the development we added the shop interface and then we added a level mechanic where after X distance new pipes would show up.

The whole development cycle went as smoothly as it possibly could right up until the very end. 1 hour before the submission we realised that the game would play just fine in the unity editor but nothing would show up in the final build. It took a while to figure out an obscure bug with scriptable object and our source control solution. In the debugging process we turned off the fog that you can see in the screenshots and forgot to turn it back on before we posted. We’ll post an updated version soon.

TukTuk Delivery: Our Gamejam Experience

We recently participated in Ludum Dare 53 and created a game called TukTuk Delivery. It was a fun and challenging experience, and we learned a lot from it. Here are some of our thoughts on what went well and what we could improve upon.

What Went Well:

  • We were able to create a functional game within the given time frame.
  • The game had a clear objective and gameplay mechanics that were easy to understand.
  • The team collaborated well and each member contributed their skills effectively.
  • The GPS was challenging but satisfactory to see it work after
  • The driving experience with wheel colliders was very fun even if it was the first time we play with this in Unity

What Could Have Been Better:

  1. Finish Condition: We missed including a finish condition such as a timer or a number of deliveries, which left the player without a clear goal to achieve.

  2. AI Driving: We wished we had more time to add AI driving other cars on the road to increase the game's challenge.

  3. Camera View: We realized that the camera could have been adjusted to avoid trees blocking the view, which could have improved the player's experience.

Overall, we are proud of what we accomplished in the gamejam. We want to thank @ArgmenBalian, @Bananian, @Zammoy, and @MrBamboo for their contributions and teamwork.

We hope you enjoyed playing TukTuk Delivery as much as we enjoyed creating it. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Ludum Dare 58

LD58 finished ! Florence Memories

Florence Memories

A meditative cloud-watching game about collecting memories from the sky.

BG_Menu.png

The Story

On a beautiful sunny day, a family goes hiking together. They find the perfect spot — a soft patch of grass overlooking the sky — and lie down to watch the clouds drift by.

As they gaze up at the endless blue, something magical happens. The clouds begin to form shapes: a teddy bear, a butterfly, a rainbow. Each shape sparks a memory, a dream, or a moment of love.

"Can you see it?"

Theme: Collection

Florence Memories embodies the Ludum Dare 58 theme through:

  • Collecting Fleeting Moments: Like watching clouds drift by, you're gathering treasures that won't last forever
  • Building Stories: Each of the 12 memories represents something special — from adventures in nature to cozy moments at home
  • Preserving Wonder: The collection mechanic asks you to be patient and attentive, just like lying in the grass and marveling at the world

The Journey

This is a game about slowing down. About being present. About the simple joy of lying in the grass with the people you love and watching the world drift by.

As you watch the sky, clouds will form into shapes — 12 unique memories waiting to be discovered. A teddy bear. A butterfly dancing on the breeze. A rainbow promising adventure. Each one is a fleeting moment of wonder, highlighted for just a few seconds before it fades back into the sky.

Click on them during their brief window of light, and watch as they transform into memories in your family scrapbook. Each memory has a story — little moments of love, dreams, and the beauty of everyday life.

The journey takes about 5-10 minutes, but there's no rush. The clouds will keep drifting. The sky will keep waiting. This is a moment to breathe, to wonder, and to remember what it feels like to simply be with the people beside you.

When you've collected all 12 memories, the sky has one final gift waiting for you.

Play Florence Memories and collect the memories from the sky!

Why We Love Ludum Dare

There's something magical about game jams. The creative rush, the tight deadlines, the challenge of turning a single theme into something playable in just 48 hours. I absolutely love participating in Ludum Dare events — they push me to experiment, to tell stories I wouldn't normally tell, and to create experiences that come straight from the heart.

This jam was special. This time, I wanted to make something peaceful, something personal, something that captures a perfect moment in time.

Want to see more? Check out my other Ludum Dare games and past game jam entries — each one a unique experiment, a different story, a new challenge conquered in 48 hours!
