Hahaha.

Progress, I hope.

So I have made kinda progress since (http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2011/08/19/so-30-minutes-in/), and so far I still don’t know what I’m doing. However, I think I’m gonna make something in the style of SuperSecretNinja, kinda. We’ll see how it goes. I made this while waiting for my food to cook:  http://www.quickshare.co.za/files/h0ah01fe/hurrdurriarewalrus.exe.html

I honestly have no idea.

Btw, I found a songbird plugin that autoupdates a file with what I’m listening to. You can see here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6171576/iamlisteningto.txt

So I’m done

I don’t really like how it turned out. Theres tons of stuff I’d like to add, but I have no more time left. Like bosses and better graphics and better everything and more weapons, you get the point. Yes, I realise in the source its a bloody mess of objects and sprites. The names went from ‘objBox’ to ‘lolman’ in a few hours.
The game is pretty easy, I should hope.
Anyway, I had tons of fun making this game. I’ll be sure to participate next LD, hopefully with a C# or Java game. 😛

Over and out, Naarkie.
(Yes, I know I sound constipated in the voice overs. *deal with it*)

LD22

I do believe that I shall participate in this event

I’ll be participating with any luck :)

My birthday is on the same day as Ludum Dare, so it might make things a bit interesting. I’ll be doing the socialising and the like on the 15th so I don’t lose too much time for Ludum Dare. Gotta prioritise.

I’ll be using the following:

Language: C#

Library: XNA

IDE: Visual C# 2010 Express

Graphics: Paint.NET, Photoshop CS5

Sound: sfxr and Audacity

Music: Microphone, or musagi. On that note, can someone recommend a good way to make music? Preferably free? And easy for a music-noob to use?

I shall be making a timelapse as well.

yes. for music you could try to use wolfram tones. click on one of those pixel images to get midi music, until you find one you like. you have to send that midi track to your mail adress to get it

Wolfram tones doesn’t work anymore, AFAIT. No export. And you aren’t legally allowed to use the music anyway (check the license).

Using libraries

I forgot to mention in my post that I will be using the YogUI GUI library in my game.

My Desk and what I’m eating

Hello there everyone!

My desk looks like this about 10 minutes before the compo:

And I shall be snacking upon this until I have breakfast (about 5 hours time):

Bottle of water, bottle of juice, apples, krówki, some oaty things. Also, while writing this post the theme was announced, “Alone”. Uhhhh.

*Nothing* coming to mind.

Progress!

LD23

LD#23 – I’m in!

Hello!
I’ll be attempting Ludum Dare #23, with any luck I won’t drop out like last time. I’m going to try somehow incorporate an online aspect to it, probably using Twitter or Omegle or something like that. I’m gonna make a timelapse, and I’m considering doing a LiveStream. First time for a livestream.

I’ll be using the following:

Langue: C#

Libraries: XNA, RestSharp

Graphics: Paint.NET, Photoshop CS5

Music: Have no idea.

Sound: I’ll probably record some sounds with my mic and modify them in Audacity

Timelapse: Chronolapse

Other Stuff: Steam for communication so I don’t get depressed from lack of social interaction, and to occasionally play some games when I get burnt out. Songbird for music (on that note, you can see what music I’m listening to during the LD at my Last.FM page). My dog to keep me company. Idk what to write here 😛

Progress So Far

I started Ludum Dare an hour late :(. Silly DST
Anyway, so far I have level loading from an image. First time I’ve done something like this, very pleased with myself.
I’m planning on making a minimalistic game, in a small window because the theme is Tiny World. Also because I cannot art to save my life.

I reckon a platformer or a top-down roguelike would be fun like this, any ideas?
