LD22

I’m also in

Hi,

I hope to finish a game, which in that case will be the first time ever. o_o

My platform will be HTML5. My tools will likely be Emacs, Inkscape and FamiTracker.

Best wishes all around!

Success!

I finished my game. I’m a bit disappointed with how little actual gameplay that made it in, but it can be considered complete, working and not too shabby.

Here are a couple of traditional pictures for your entertainment/annoyance:

LD23

I’m in again

Hi,

I’m excited to participate in my second Ludum Dare, and hoping to make something more substantial this time around <_<

My platform of choice is still HTML5. I intend to use this as my basecode, which is mostly parts ripped of my LD22 entry that i never got around to cleaning up.

The tools i expect to use are Emacs, Gimp/Inkscape/Sprite Something and bfxr/FamiTracker/Logic.

Good luck everyone, see you in six hours!

Hmm, so how large is tiny?

Might be a little too large to keep with the spirit of things …

Also, hoping to save time by writing a Tiled-JSON-importer.

Sub-optimal focus

Work was interrupted to attend a beer tasting.

Afterwards, the bar became my workspace for a while.

Unfortunate circumstances

After a while my cold got worse, and i broke out in chills.

Managed to make some sprites while wrapped up in bed.

Power through! Do get your sleep, though.

Failure :(

Today i spent most of the time in bed, and the rest not having the energy or motivation to continue work, even though i know what i wanted to do.

Progress hasn’t been too bad. The beginnings of the game has a combat system, but not yet the challenge to make it useful for anything.

Anyway, i still want to finish the game. I hope i’ll find the motivation and time to do it.

LD24

It’s LD again already?

It snuck up on me, and i feel a bit unprepared. But i don’t want to miss this.

Goals:

  • Make game
  • Don’t make too ambitious game
  • Don’t get sick
  • Don’t get distracted by GW2

Done, but not really satisfied

I’ve gotten sick of my idea for a game, since even if the mechanics work sort of as intended, the game is boring to play.

With no faith in the game itself, i never felt like putting any effort into graphics, sound or music.

But since i managed to design some game mechanics and implement them, it felt better to finish it up enough to make it playable and submit it, rather than abandoning it outright.

The game became a cellular automaton-style thing with organisms that have genes you can modify by mutations.

I’ve seen several other games with what looks like a similar idea. It will be particularly interesting to play them.

I guess i’m in

I’m not ready. Now is not a good time.

What if my result disappoints me like after my previous LD?

But i like all of those themes.

Doing it anyway.

I made i game, which i don’t hate as much as last time. Yay ^_^

Work continues

This turned out to be engaging, in a way i haven’t felt for years. \(^_^)/

So, i’ve continued trying to fix and complete things.

Mouse aiming is implemented, hit detection is fixed, fixing the worst gameplay problems.

Work on a decent 3d model is progressing.

Glad to hear you’re continuing development.
