LD 38

I’m participating too :3

Second time doing a LD jam, and hopefully little better than last time.

I’m not sure what engine I’ll be using this time, depends on the theme.

Engine: Probably unity, otherwise self made

Visual: Gimp, ms paint, blender

Audio: lmms, audacity, fruity loops

This time I’ll try to focus more on the gameplay aspect, that was kinda left out last time 😀

Joining LD38

Yep, im in too. I dont have really any plans yet, I dont even know what engine im going to use. I might even write the game completely from scratch :/

Making some progress!

Just got my tomatoes watered!

Plantbox part 2

So uhh, my plant watering game is coming along nicely, I guess... Had a constant 6-14 viewers on my stream so far, so I guess I'll be doing that tomorrow too. Now I just need a break, I'm getting burned out. Sometimes solo compo isn't that fun

LD 39

Count me in.

3rd time doing Ludum Dare. Hopefully this time it goes better than LD38

Hopefully this time I can use my own engine, but if I don't finish that in time, I'll just use Unity again. My C++ skills are quite rusty anyways.

I use all pretty much standard tools * Unity/Homebrewed C++ engine * Visual Studio * Blender * Gimp2 * ???

Well, here we go, I guess

Running out of Power... Interesting

So far I don't really have any ideas, but then again its only been half an hour. When I hit the 7 hour mark, then I'll get worried about the idea.

I do have a genre I would like to pursue tho, for some reason lately I've been really drawn towards a text based game. We'll see, I guess

Little over 5 hours in, got an idea

So, no text based adventure this time. Maybe next LD

I don't really want to give anything out (and my idea is still quite VIP), but my game will definitely have some gains. :muscle: :triumph:

Done literally 3 minutes before compo end! Closest (and probably most fun) LD yet. :muscle::triumph:

LD 40

In for #40!

This my fourth Ludum Dare, and far from being last one. I don't really know what I'll do this time, or even with what tools. I always have Unity as option, it has served me well. Last time I used LibGDX but I dont think I want to take that route again. Java isnt just that enjoyable for me anymore. I have a small engine in the works, so I'll see if I'll get it done in time. There is also a chance I wont need an engine at all, since Ive lately wanted to make a text based game for LD

  • Engine: Unity or homebrew
  • Code: Intellij IDEA or VSCode depending on engine
  • Models: Blender
  • Textures: Gimp
  • Sound: Audacity and FLStudio
  • Drinks: Coca-cola and ice tea

Lets see what I can get together this time

Almost 8 hours in, I got an idea!

So, I've lost 1/6th of our time buts that's okay! It was faster than last time, which I didn't get started until the 11-12th hour.

Text based adventure, here I come!

Nearly 13 hours in, I have... 12 SLOC done.

Even though my code status is kinda weak right now, my story is shaping up quite well! And because of the twist I have, I won't need to worry about any assets. Today is story, tomorrow is implementation!

Now I shall head off to a local coffee shop to sipp on an espesso while typing away with my sticker covered MacBook. Hipster life!

I give up

...yeah...

Even though my previous posts have had a quite an upbeat tone, I'm kinda destroyed. First idea I had was quite good, except that 17 hours in I realized, there is no way to make it work as a game. So, being very demotivated and stressed, I threw that into the garbage and started fresh off with a new, shittier idea. And well, now I realize, its not very enjoyable for me to do this anymore. I mean, the idea of a game jam is to have fun, right? I'm not having fun right now.

Maybe next time
