Sprinkles of Subjectivity (Round 1 Votes)

Whatever sounds ambiguous and novel without going too wide gets +1. I don't do '0' otherwise we'll end up with a compromise no one likes.

  • Useless Superpowers sounds quirky and fun with tons of outcomes and enough ambiguity.
  • Break the cycle gives a clear goal which can take any shape or form.
  • One item, many uses encourages strong design by getting more out of one thing.
  • Take one, leave one choices are fun to build around and this is nicely limited.

Same as with the first round whatever sounds ambiguous and novel without going too wide gets +1. I don’t do ‘0’ otherwise we’ll end up with a compromise no one likes.

  • Corruption as one worded themes tend to goes too far, but it's a topic I can get behind, even though it'll be hard to vote on.
  • Making connections take it socially, take it mechanically.. take it however you want and it can make for a good theme for variety of people.
  • Each playthrough builds on the last bit persistent roguelikeish sounding but here's me hoping LD crowd will be creative
  • Decay I like the concept of time having detremental effect on objects, relationships etc. Same worries as with corruption.

Ancient Technology I'd vote for if it wasn't already done. Feel like most people would go back to that and take too much inspiration from it.

Same as with previous rounds whatever sounds ambiguous and novel without going too wide gets +1. I don’t do ‘0’ otherwise we’ll end up with a compromise no one likes.

  • Sacrifices must be made gives a few varied yet managable ideas just from reading.
  • Work with the enemy sounds fun, open with a sound direction.
  • Mistakes are permanent likely will end up with a lot of reverse-roguelikes, where you build up handicap over time. In more optimistic perspective I see this genre-less, talking about life, giving space for less-machanic savvy designers.

Already let myself go in the previous round so it was a no-go for the overly wide themes.

Sprinkles of Subjectivity (Final Round)

Here we are with final round of casting away the subjective matter that is opinion!

With final round I set myself a limit of just 3 choices to really limit what I'd want to work on. Everything else gets downvoted, because it's the last thing I'd want to see. Choices came out OK, surviving the previous rounds so it was actually an easy picking and I can generally repeat myself below.

  • Break the cycle gives a clear goal which can take any shape or form.
  • Making connections take it socially, take it mechanically.. take it however you want and it can make for a good theme for variety of people.
  • Take one, leave one choices are fun to build around and this is nicely limited.

If I had to declare a winner the "Break the cycle" would be it by a hair.

I wish everyone a great jam, whatever theme will end up on top!

Can I go through 20 entries on camera?

Here's 20 videogames I've rated for #ldjam. Savage rating! After all, all indies are expected to make AAA quality game over a weekend.
