LD 43

First Ludum Dare !

It's my first attempt at the Ludum Dare, and my second attempt at a jam ever ! I can't wait to start !

I have a strong background at coding but very little skills at making music and drawing. So the only game I submitted to a jam was text based. But I really want to use 2D for the Ludum Dare. Have you got any advice ?

Getting started

Sacrifices must be made !

Now let's start Unity to implement the concept !

Still at it after 16 hours! Time to take a break.

I have been drawing and coding since 3am CEST (time at which the LD43 started in western Europe). Now it is time to rest a little, eat and sleep a bit.

The main loop is nearly done, it's my objective to complete it before the 24th hour. Next I plan to make small improvement iterations : like improving graphics, or rearranging the crapy UI, I also spotted some bugs.

End of day 1 - Reached MVP

1:53am CEST, almost rounded the clock twice !

The game reached a minimal viable product state, which means that a submission is secured whatever happens tomorrow.

It features a complete game loop that can be completed with some lore explained.

Tomorrow will be about polishing and improvements to make it a more enjoyable experience.

Time to sleep, see you all in 6 hours !

Ludum Dare 43 completed !

I'm proud to show you Panquetzalt ! A puzzle game about logic but also about being quick !

The first attempts can be quite challenging, good luck !

How has it been going for you ?

Panquetzalt - Can you beat that game ?

Well turns out the learning curve is a bit harsh. It was intended but not that high. Still can you beat this game ?

What answer would you pick on the example below ? Golden spear or iron spear ?

We are a few votes from reaching 20, please help us! A postjam version is underxay, with more levels, improved design and sound. We are even wondering adding a co-op mode!

Newgrounds is really friendly to Ludum Dare participants

Just found out that newgrounds.com has put my game and others from LDJam in frontpage, it has gotten 1000 views so far and around 100 votes on that platform. You should give it a try if you want some visibility for your games!

KOPENG RUN!

I had a way over-complicated idea about a management game. So I went with this infinite runner instead! Next step is to add cacti that will hurt the little kopengs. Can't wait to draw all the sprites!
