I am releasing my current as is engine that I have ben working on in java. It uses LWJGL for the graphics.  The master branch is the engine as of now(Commit 2).

My 2nd Attempt At Multiplayer (Prop Hunt)

My (crazy) attempt at multiplayer.  The physics actually work, try knocking a glass onto the ground! You move with WASD and Q and E to change props. The multiplayer works** but there isn’t object syncing, so both people need to refresh the page at the same time to see the same objects move. I really just needed more time, but of course that is hard to get.

 

I learned a TON from this game (namely that multiplayer is more complicated then just 2 hours to make), the phaser engine can be utter crap at times (more on this later), the less poly’s on collision boxes the better for particles, and a ton of other things! Incredibly fun and I’ll be back for the next competition!

Water and Swimming Improvements

Water has been completely reworked. Both the water and lilypads now have physics. Swimming has also been completely reworked to make it more intuitive and fun, complete with new sound effects.

The water is also more dangerous in general now. Watch out! squirrelemnew/emswimming_3.gif

We also have some new lightning effects.

Fish have been reworked to make them visually cleaner and make it more clear when the player has died to them.

Owl and Lightning Updates

Standing in a log for 1 second now calls in the bird immediately, and the Owl no longer queues while you're in cover. These should both reduce the time you're waiting for the Owl to pass, and reduce the times you're being harassed by both the Owl and the lightning.

  • Fixed the Owl swoop causing possible occlusion of the logs
