LD 43

First time LD,

First time LD, going into compo like a brave train going off tracks. Not sure when I am suppose to state I am doing the compo or if there is somewhere a check box I should mark.

Sacricent

My game idea is "Sacricent". A kind of centipede creatures that can sacrifice his own legs for various things. I am very satisfied with the idea, but feeling a bit lazy. Also tomorrow I work since I live in Israel. So I hope to just patch something really basic and submit it today. We will see. Maybe a bit unmotivated and depressed, lol.

Shaping up, no sacrifice yet...

I was thinking, all enemies also have legs. If you kill them, their legs drop as loot and if your legs are missing you can replace them with new legs. Legs can be eaten for health, maybe for other things as well.Sacricent.gif

Sacricent: Beta.

I have completed the Beta version of Sacricent. Sacricent is a game where you play as a centipede like creature that can eat his own legs for health, and loot other creature's legs. Arrow keys to walk and jump. Ctrl to fire. Space bar to eat a leg. Notice eating a leg can be done only once per second, this may not be obvious from playing.

There is no sound yet, but the game is complete, it has all it's levels and it's ending. Please test it and tell me about bugs and issue. I will now work on sound fx and intro screen. Maybe more balancing issues.

Thanks.

Voting and submitting

I don't understand how I vote on other people's games and if I actually submitted my game for the compo?

Sacricent, please give it a try.

My game about a centipede like creature who eats his own legs in a world with bizzare creatures don't have a lot of feedback.

Maybe because I didn't play other people's game too much as well. At first I limited myself only to web versions of games, but now I think I will try windows exes as well.

Give my game a try and tell me about your game in the comment and I will try it out as well.

Disappointed from scores.

I thought I did pretty well for my first Ludum Dare. Other games had more effort invested in them, but I think my game mechanics were pretty original. Maybe I didn't get enough overall votes and the score was lower than it could be.

How can I get 400 votes like other games did? Seems like I mostly get votes from playing other people's games, and if I don't have time to play 400 games, I couldn't get a lot of votes?
