Vroom Vroom Kaboom (or routing taxis like a programmer)

moreofamess.png

Have you ever wanted a game about routing taxis turn by turn through a city with only one-way roads as you try not to have them all ram into eachother?

... No?

I attest you just haven't realised yet! (any fans of Zachtronics games might recognise the layout of the bottom piece to be similar to the recent Opus Magnum.. and that is entirely correct (sorry and thanks zach))

Play and rate it here, thanks in advance and looking forward to your feedback!

Vroom Vroom Kabom - post-jam touches and level editor work

e3e0.gif

After having finally put something out for Ludum Dare after a few failed past attempts, I ended up being relatively pleased with the end-result of the resulting product that came out of the Jam, but still wanting to do more with it!

(play and rate the programming puzzle game here if you haven't tried it yet: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/vroom-vroom-kaboom)

This including adding more levels, making a proper level editor (for both users and the two devs to use) and putting scoreboards in (this aside from the resulting changes after feedback from players, which includes things like turning automatically on corners where you can only go one way, instead of requiring an instruction to turn)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMLebQrQ9_w

The first levels were made by manually placing tiles, taxis and destinations inside Godot's editor, no more!

The hard work of making how you issue instructions more intuitive (requiring less terrible keypresses) is still yet to come however :)

ALSO: comment with your game if you want me to play and rate yours, always interesting to see more games!

LEEEEEEEEES GOOOOO

It's time, been a while since my last entry (three years, in fact, for LD40 in fact: Vroom Vroom Kaboom) or the slightly more polished post jam version if you wish :)

Going to be using the following most likely: * Godot 3.2 (used it last time too, very successfully! it's good!) * Sonic Pi (if i get time/inspiration to make small tune, but also maybe for sfx) * Audacity (for light editing/adjustments of the above) * Aseprite

I look forward to returning to the fray, the community spirit is always lovely and seeing the incredible games that pour out of LD is nothing short of exhilirating!

I'll probably be tweeting about stuff while I make the game: _profan

Likely entering the compo this time, good luck everyone!

thresher - and how to spend too long drawing and making particles

Well, I've spent much too long on the bits to make this look nice, but at least there's something that kinda looks like a gameloop now and most of the elements needed to finish it are there? :D

Initial Harvester - Complete!

Stardew Valley was nice, but... inefficient, who needs shovels and hoes when you've got a COMBINE HARVESTER?!

I finished with some time to spare for once, got audio and sound in thanks to the wealth of creative commons works out there and can finally breathe and start looking at the wonderful submissions everyone else has put together :)

Made with: Godot 3.5.1, Aseprite, Tilesetter

Give it a go, and I hope to try out the fruits of your labour too! :D

(... the source is linked as well, for anyone curious, though I doubt there is much to learn by looking at it)
