Ludum Dare 54

RTS in just 2 days

cavebots_supersmall.gif

I didn't have good motivation before the theme was announced. I had zero ideas about the game I could create in just two days.

And then something just clicked. The theme is great in a sense of the freedom it offers. You can figure out something smart, but it's also possible to kinda go with whatever.

I feel good about the end results (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/54/cavebots). This is a game I would like to improve after the jam. And this is great, because I don't like when a game has to be too jam-focused. It would make it out-of-context when released outside of the jam ground.

P.S. - I wish ldjam site allowed me to post links. :D I have no idea how my "trustworthiness" can be increased.

The modular music is alive!

I created a simple music track for my game using MilkyTracker.

The result is a ~2 min track that has a size of ~36kb!

Since I'm not good at making music, it doesn't sound that good, but I guess it's good enough for me (at least for the compo prototype).

My game uses an XM player that can play such music directly. It's quite neat for web and mobile exports where size kinda matters.

Playing your games on record

If you want a record of someone playing your game, let me know.

I will try to beat the game (a time limit is ~30 minutes) and provide a quality feedback (plus rate your game here).

My only requirement: your game should run in browser (e.g. it should be a proper HTML5 game). Optionally, you can tag me on Twitter while linking the video. :)

So far, I played these games: * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3SVna1wLuM * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKle6GrgxlY * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDZgDlrXJ7c * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDZgDlrXJ7c * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhIshruf4a8 * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhIshruf4a8 * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn9DKeRQ04Y * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRwQ_FYDUF0

Top1 in turn-based strategies!

It will probably not last even 5 more minutes (and the tag itself is niche), but let me celebrate this little victory xD

When your infinite actually has a canon ending

My friend managed to go that far into the game, deep randomly generated part, that the game broke during the next level generation due to the player and enemy army sizes. :D

I don't have an end-game screenshot as he technically never lost, but here is a screenshot from a few battles before that.

I failed hard at Ludum Dare 57, but...

Could you wishlist my game on Steam? https://store.steampowered.com/app/3024370/NebuLeet 👉 👈

What else could you expect from an indie game developer? :D

I made an RTS

untitled-ezgif.com-optimize(1).gif

I tried to explore the RTS avenue again. This time it's about managing the base, economy, and connecting the buildings together.

I am enjoying seeying familiar people games

It's like having friends. I am excited which games they are going to make this time. I really enjoy this socializing aspect of the jam. We're growing together :)
