There once was a fellow named Mike,

There once was a fellow named Mike,

Who held knowledge others would like.

He knew the results, oh, so well,

But kept them locked in his secret cell.

With a knowing grin upon his face,

He held the answers in their rightful place.

Curiosity sparked, but he stood strong,

For revealing the truth would be so wrong.

In whispers, they begged, "Oh, please, do share!"

But Mike remained elusive, without a care.

He held the key to the hidden insight,

Leaving everyone to ponder day and night.

Though frustrating, his silence was true,

For Mike knew the power of a mystery to brew.

With patience, they waited, hoping someday,

He'd reveal the results, and all would say, "Hooray!"

GAME

When blender didn't export the animations, ludumdare didn't load on chrome and unreal crashed... I was about to give up... But what kind of gamer would I be then?

Luckily because in the end I think it ended well.

Looking forward to your feedback!

I learn something new every year

This year I learned how important good feedback is, like flashing to confirm an action. A shot with recoil plus music immediately feels better. But you shouldn't overdo the recoil like I do xD...

I have learnt something new and important.

  • It is important that a game has pauses but no idle time.
  • It is also immensely important to give good haptic feedback. If you take damage let the player light up. It's like a dance between music, animation and colours. In combination, you understand the game much better.
  • And this year I see again that placing text directly in the game is read directly and saves the player from having to read it again.
  • I also don't see ludumdare as a chance to make my game famous, feedback is much more important to me. That way I could and can improve in the future.
  • Don't get frustrated
  • Don't compare yourself with others, compare yourself with yourself 2 years ago.
  • Have fun!

This is just my subjective opinion and experience. I would love to read more tips from veterans and also newbies.

Feel free to take my game apart with feedback and constructive criticism

Could you please support? It's not my game

I'm currently playing and evaluating a few compos that are in danger. I've noticed that one that I've already played is also included. I'm surprised because the game has the potential to become one of the best rated in the jam. The game just needs another rating. the game was developed by @cosmo8 infernal-ascension Game
