Need Some Feedback

OK the game is Simple Squares, a game where you dodge squares and get the highest score as possible. Below is a link to the download page. Please leave meaningful comments and suggestions, meaning leave harsh comments if need to be. Also if you come across any bugs please mention them in full detail. Thanks.

The game is pretty cool. I would suggest improving the graphics and the AI, and perhaps adding some music. The squares randomly going across the screen looks cool, but I think the game would work better if they fell down separate columns, as it would make the game appear more organized, and easier to avoid the squares. But if that’s not the direction you want to go, I understand, I think your method could work well too, but I think it may need a bit more polish. This could come from improving the graphics, and adding an increasing difficulty, (I don’t think I observed one while playing.) Also, you should add some music, as it really goes a long way for improving games. Overall the game was pretty fun to play, my high score was 55. It’s probably not very high 😛

My highest score was 219. (does it increase in difficulty when everything turns red at ~150, or is it just a change of color?)

One bug I found: The “Score to Beat” only updates when closing and opening the game, not after each run.

Well I’m Stuck

I recently got a MacBook and since Gamemaker does not run on Mac platform, I decided to try out Unity for a couple months. I am not a fan of Unity 2D because of several reasons, no Map Editor and it feels clunky to use. Is there any game engines similar to Gamemaker: Studio that are compatible with Mac and Windows possibly an HTML 5 port too?

I think Unreal Engine should work.
