Hey guys, it’s my first Ludum Dare and, guess what, I made a game!

It’s called Resource Divers: You are stranded on an island, but luckily you took a diving and engineering course in college, you can build a ship to get home. There is a bounty of resources in the ocean, but there’s one problem. The only way to power your ship is the power crystal, which is trapped at the bottom of the sea. You must build different air tanks, pressure suits, and speed increasing effects to reach the bottom of the ocean and claim the gem.

Hey0, can’t believe I placed above 500 in any catagory, but here I am 162nd for theme and 243rd for Fun! Thanks a lot for anybody who played my game and enjoyed it, hope all of you guys had fun and enjoyed my theming. Anyway, great, super successful first Ludum Dare, most likely going to be participating again!

So after being awake for 38 hours straight, let’s see what I have to show for myself.

In this Ludum Dare compo, I decided I wanted to focus more on production value than gameplay, I wanted an eye-candy filled game that looks generally awesome. This is what I have so far, a game where you can warp between five different worlds. In this game I utilized Love2D’s particle system to its fullest, creating galactic backdrops, starfield warp effects, and ship engines.
