I’m getting to grips with game development and lately jams like this have helped me to actually get stuff done.

I’m not yet sure what tools I’m going to use. I like Unity but it’s hard and I’m very slow with it. Construct 2 comes recommended so it is likely that I will take advantage of the ludum deal discount on that if the theme suits. For some themes I might find that I’d rather make something with Twine, or if I’m going to go super abstract and geometric then I’ll use Processing.

I’ve been following the theme voting with bated breath. Some of the leading themes I love and I’m really hoping I can make one of the game ideas I have for them!

I was reading Rise of the Videogame Zinesters this week and I put together this gaudy image of Anna Anthropy’s tasklist. A simple guide to 48 hours of blitzing minimalism!

I’m using Construct 2 for this. I think. I’m using this tutorial as some reassuring hand holding.

This gaudy monstrosity that I am attempting to pass off as a game actually begins as a white, minimalist space. Then you eat strawberries and potatoes and vomit hearts everywhere while your boyfriend pretties up with rainbow eyelashes.

As you play you unlock more and more dancers, and then you go dance with them to unlock drinks!

My dancers don’t have music, but I’m going to stop here. Play Mrazish!

I did a short experiment in Twine 2 last year, but this is my first time really getting stuck in and using some of the features built into the Harlowe theme. I’m very impressed and excited!

Try to convince the Metaphysician to prescribe you the elixir so that you can ascend to your true form. Discover what your true form is while you experiment with performativity. Crush medical equipment with your bare hands. Smash the system.
