Ryuno is here!

Hello everyone! Some of you may know me from The Longing of Shiina Ryo, others from the Chiptunes = WIN!: Volume 2 compilation (you can listen to my track at https://soundcloud.com/ryunocore/wub-dub-de-club ) and most of you might just not know me at all, which is far more likely considering there are apparently seven billion people in the world.  This is my first Ludum Dare jam and I can’t wait to pump out some tracks at the speed of light. Nice to meet you all!

[Edit]I will be using:

FL Studio 10

Ableton Live

Propellerhead Reason

FamiTracker

Renoise

Games I was involved with this year

Hello everyone! This year was productive to me and I got to interact with some really good game devs. Here are the projects I worked in:

I’m back!

Hello, it’s good to be participating again! Some of you may know me from Cavern Kings and I’m happy to announce Vine and I will be participating in the jam!

Good luck to everyone, and remember to have fun!

Working on this for the jam

I’m using basically the same software as last year: FL Studio, Famitracker and Audacity. The main leads come from Famitracker and the always reliable 3x OSC.

Be prepared to see this screen a lot.

It was a lot of fun working on this even with the limited time. Since the Kickstarter campaign for Cavern Kings  is still going on, I tried to get most of the audio work done in the first 24 hours so I wouldn’t neglect my work there and also be able to take care of new tasks here if needed. Vine and Mr. P had a concise vision of what they wanted in the game and gave me an asset list in a matter of hours. While they worked on the game’s art and programming, I started working on the BGM track.

It took 3h48m to get to this. The track and the SFX were all done in FL Studio, mostly using the native plugin 3xOSC, which I’ve grown to love, with FamiTracker pulses. I have been wanting to make  synthpop-influenced music for games for a long time, but didn’t want to stray away from Cavern Kings’ OST either because, well, gotta love chiptune arps.

Mr. P wasn’t used to the tool but learned it really fast on the go, and this was a fun experience for all of us, except for a bug (identified and corrected within an hour of the submission), so we don’t rule out continuing to work on this game in the future.

I’m in!

Hey guys! It’s been a while since I had time to this, I’ve been working on making music for games, label releases and the anime SEX and VIOLENCE with MACHSPEED by Studio TRIGGER  (Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia). This Jam I’ll be making music and SFX this time again as part of a team I love working with, using FL Studio as my DAW and the following hardware synthesizers:

  • Roland SH-201
  • Novation XioSynth
  • Korg Monotron

Have fun everyone, I know I will.
