I’m in!

Hi! I’m Santo, from MiniBoss!

This is my first Ludum Dare, so, I wanna see how it turns out, since I’m not really a programmer.  Actually I’m a 2d artist with some programming knowledge. My tools will be:

Programming: Game Maker 8.1 for Windows. (If I decide to make a platformer I’ll probably end up using Grandma Engine)
2d Art:  Pixel art probably. Probably Graphics Gale  for the animation and the heavy stuff, and Photoshop or Paint Tool Sai for the BG and other big images. Maybe I should try CherryBrush to get a Dr. Petter full set bonus!
Sound: sfxr! And Audacity to convert/edit.
Music: Not so sure yet, I may try musagi or pxtone but I’ll probabaly use Drumcircle or PixelBlipz
Timelapse and Streaming: Chronolapse and XSplit

Good luck everyone!

Too tired

Too tired to keep working today, I’ll get some sleep! But I’ll leave some more screenshots with my progress so far

Minor Bug Fixes

Just did some minor bug fixes in the game (the game was crashing when you died, and  there was a area that the cold weather wasn’t working) and increased a little the quantity of provisions in the game making is a little bit easier (now you can actually finish it :D)

check it out here

Gameplay Video

I just updated my entry with a spoiler-free gameplay video, if you in a hurry you can still check it out :)

What program do you use for screen capture? Everything I use ends up looking like choppy garbage.

Love your game, btw. One of my faves for LD22.

Again, I’m in!

Hi everyone!
I’m in again!

I’ll be using Flashpunk this time. My map editor will be Ogmo.
I’ll use Graphics Gale for most art, and probably Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI too!
For sound and music, probably bfxr and inudge.

I have also made a platformer base code inspired on ChevyRay’s code, with the preloader by Noel Berry, you can play it HERE. Or download the source code and use it HERE.

Good to see you around! I’m In too~ Been studying pixel art!

(Untitled)

Finally got something playable, the game still has no name and the gameplay needs a lot of polish.

Joining Late!

I’m a little late, but I’m joining now! 😀

I’ll be using:
– Flashpunk and Flashdevelop to code.
– Photoshop, Paint Tool SAI, and Graphics Gale to do the art.
– Inudge, PXTone or Drumcircle to do the music.
– SFXR and Labchirp for sounds.

And that’s it!
This time I got some weird ideas, I’m not sure if I’m gonna make it, but let’s do this 😀

Lunch and Minions

Finally I got something barely playable!
My game is inspired by Pikmin, and tower defence games. You control a swarm of minions that you must use to protect something (not sure yet). The catch is that they will reproduce themselves (and die) a lot and each generation will have slightly different attributes then the previous one, I hope some natural selection (and evolution) will occur based on this:D

You can play the latest build HERE

I am in!

And I’ll be using a bunch of stuff:

Chevy Ray’s Flashpunk 2, Ogmo editor, Flashdevelop and Notepad++ for coding.
Photoshop, Paint Tool Sai and Graphics Gale for art. and Maybe I’ll try Pickle this time!
For music and sound I’ll probably stick with SFXR, Audacity, PXtone and Inudge.

Here’s my (actually this is @ninaringo’s) workstation:

Hey, where did you get FP 2? Last time i checked flashpunk.net was down =/

My Progress so far

I’ve decided to make a game that combines Alex Kidd boss fights (a Rock Paper Scissors thing with mind reading involved) and Samurai Kirby (a who-press-the-button-first thing). Two ninjas are dueling, and only one will stay alive!

Here’s a couple of screenshots of what I got so far:

Katana Senpou

title

This Ludum Dare theme gave me the idea to do the simplest game that I could think of! The game is Katana Senpou, meaning… well, I don’t know. Actually I was hoping that it doesn’t mean anything. The game is a tribute to some other games Like Kirby Superstar and Alex Kidd and to some cheesy Samurai/Karate movies and animes.

The game is very simple, you are one of two samurai dueling by the sunset (or by the moon, sometimes) and the first one to attack after the signal wins (just like Samurai Kirby) but with a twist, you must also choose a move, something like Rock, Paper, Scissors, the samurais clash their swords and get ready for the next attack.

Play an rate HERE at the offical post!

We are in!

We are in!

I’ll be joining the Jam this time, but I think we will need to deliver the game by sunday, so, we are aiming for something super simple.

The team is:

Saint11 (Me) – Coding, Art
Greg Toth – Coding
Amora - Some concept art and ideas <3

We will be using Otter, a 2D C# Framework built on SFML 2. Most of the art will probably be made on GraphicsGale and Photoshop.
I’m still not very sure how sound and music will be done yet, I’ll post something when we start making it :)
