Lets see how we go this time.
We'll use gamemaker, fruitloops or bfxr and photoshop. (it all depends on the theme). :)
After hours of work, the game is beginning to take form :)
There is still much to do but our Mahou Shoujo Shoot’em up is going fine.
We shall see if we manage to give birth to a new heroin!

Here it is, our Mahou Shoujo Shoot 'em up. It was really an awesome experience to get out on our comfort zone to try doing this project.

On the enchanted lands, there lives a little witch who wanders in the night skies to protect those that live there. Follow her in her quest. But beware, since you cannot be reckless with where or who you shoot your magic bolts, they might not be enough if you don’t use them wisely.

What we tried to do but failed to get done before the deadline: - Platformer stages to mix up the gameplay. The balance on it was just broken and we had to choose one mechanic or the other; - Intro Cutscene. We began to work in it until we had to stop because of a unexpected bug T.T.
We cannot wait to see the feedback. We truly hope to continue to work on this game afterwards.
Lets try it again :)
We managed to think on something that might work with the theme :)
Beginning to make some movement tests
.
With our theme already chosen, lets begin designing our characters. :)

Playing around while planning the UI on paper since one of our pcs just died. :)

After considering our time constraint, we ended up choosing a chibi approach to our ingame characters.

And here we begin our last day.

Took us longer than we wished for, but our main heroin, Karol.
And one of her rivals, Aziny.
With the name and logo defined, we begin the final stretch. :)

Making some gameplay tests with finished sprites.

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/sweet-sweet-witch-hunt
Here it is, our 2D action pretty witch hunt game with arcade shooter's elements mixed in it. For a team composed mainly by 1st time jammers, it was really interesting to see how we managed to progress during this project.

From within the forbidden woods, witches compete among themselves to decide who is the superior sweetooth of these parts by kidnapping annoying children and turning them into candies.
Be part of the Sweet Sweet Witch Hunt controlling Karol Conkah, the bewitching little witch, and become the queen of the woods. But beware that George Congie, the infamous witch hunter, lies in wait deep into the forest, on a futile attempt to save those kids.

What we tried to do but failed to get done before the deadline due to time constraints and fadigue: - 4 player competitive play (with AI); - Alternative game mode where you controlled the hunter.
We'll be waiting for your feedback. :)
We decided to be a bit whacky and went to make Summer's summer summon game. Lets survive the waves on the beaches.
There was a lot of advances on the first day with a couple of concepts and a whole lot of code being made on godot. :)
There is still a long way into the second day.
