I am also in

First LD I’ll be participating in. I have been meaning to do so for quite a while, but only now do I think I know enough to, at the very least, try. I don’t believe I’ll manage to get something done in 48 hours, but I’ll try it nonetheless. The main objective is to learn, and to have fun, after all.

I’ll be using Code::Blocks, as the IDE; C++, as the language; SDL, as the library; Audacity, as the sfx-maker; Paint.net, as the gfx-maker and, whatever other free tool I might need will be decided in the coming days before the competition.

Regardless, fun times should ensue 馃榾

Welp, expected but still a bit of a bummer

So, I won’t be able to make it in time. It is a shame, but I didn’t think I would be able to do it since the start. Regardless, I did complete the objective I had set, which was to learn a bit more, to barely get any sleep and to have fun while doing it. I’ll be back in the next Ludum Dare, and hopefully be able to complete that one. However, there was something else good about this. I ended up really liking the idea I made up for the theme so I’ll keep working on it outside of this competition, hopefully with a friend, even. I’ll just post here the little writeup I had for it. If you’ve played Uplink, you’ll see where I got the inspiration from.

“You’re Selena Lambton. You’re wanted for various cyber crimes and, in order to clean your criminal record, you’ve found a breach in the Global Criminal Database that you plan on exploiting. The main problem? You can’t find your file. You suspect that it might be in the deepest parts of the database, and even if you find it, it’ll likely be highly encrypted. To add to all that, you can only access the database for a certain ammount of time per day, before risking your connection being traced.
Your usual bank accounts have been frozen and you’re currently out of money. All you have is the computer and the screen in front of you. Log into the Deep Web and start taking jobs within this database. Buy upgrades and make sure you don’t get traced. Find your criminal record and clean it to win the game. InterNIC log deletions are done automatically, so don’t worry about passive traces :D”

Good luck to everyone else. I saw a few games that were quite interesting out on the website : D

Participating for the second time. If it will be for the 48h or the 72h will depend on whether a friend of mine will be open to do some art for me.

Engine: like many others, Unity 5 this time. In C#.

Sounds and music: Audacity and LMMS

Graphics (if I end up doing it myself): Either Paint.NET or Blender depending on whether it’s 2D or 3D.

Fuel: Chocolate and 7UP.

Not entirely sure I’ll be able to finish this time either, but at least the doubt is lighter than last time. Plus, this is great for learning (and a lot of fun) and the result of the previous Ludum Dare is still something I’d love to develop further at some point.

Good luck to everyone and have fun!

I鈥檓 in!

It’ll be the third Ludum Dare I’ll be participating in. Couldn’t join on the last one because I had to go on vacation with the family.

I’ll be using Unity. For graphics it’ll be Paint.Net and Audacity plus LMMS for audio.

It’ll be fun 馃榾

4th attempt at participating.

I’m not sure if I’ll be using either Unity (using C#) or Gamemaker. I suppose it’ll depend on what ideas I get with the theme. In any case, both softwares are more than ready to go.

Artwise I’ll just either be using Paint.Net or Gamemaker’s editor and soundwise I’ll use LMMS and Audacity.

Lets hope it’s this time around that I’ll finish my entry ^_^

It’ll be a fun and learning experience聽regardless.
