I'm In

I'm in, assuming nothing comes up this weekend. I'm making a game about having limited memory.

Progress

While we may have lost track of the theme a bit, the aesthetic looks cool...

Levels and Code Editing

After spending hours grappling with Unity's iffy InputField I've final made some progress.

Working Emulator!

While there are still a few kinks to work out, the basic features are all in placeworking emulator.PNG

More Levels, Menus

A lot of the bugs in the emulator have been ironed out, so now it's just time to smooth out the rough edges. The code editor is still a little bit janky and the compiler is bad at letting you know why your code doesn't work, but everything generally works well enough.

Also, thanks to @Thor, we have a manual.

Final Stretch

At this point we're just adding levels and working on polishing up the mechanics.

I just added the in game help screen: Help Screen.PNG

Unfortunately, after doing some testing, it looks like the CRT effect doesn't work well in WebGL. We're aiming to have Windows and Linux desktop versions by the end of the Jam. If we can find the time to port to Mac and/or fix the WebGL version post Jam, we will.

We Did It!

uP-8 is game where you write real assembly to control a rover! It even comes with a 20 page reference manual!

µP-8: Microprocessor Web Version Available Now!

After some tinkering with the Unity Post-Processing Stack I was able to get a working WebGL version of the game! It only works properly in full-screen mode (due to what is seemingly a bug in Unity's WebGL export). I've also released two patches to the standalone versions fixing most of the major bugs I've found so far.

Check it out at the Game Page.
