As I prepare for sleep tonight, I ask myself:
“What did I accomplish today?”
Then I recall the duck hunt memes in the irc, taking 3 hours to make a 200×100 gui, and making some dev art.
Tomorrow I have the task of programming the game and improving art.
So now I ask myself:
“Why couldn’t the theme have been Duck Hunt?”
so I am scrapping all code I have done thusfar to make this easier but more tedious. that is all

I am playing Overwatch while waiting for the theme to be announced. Stop by!

I got my concept done. An evil Professor has locked you in a room with many different stages of traps. It will work similarly to a boss fight, with one stage at a time. It will also be sort of bullet-hell, with lots of things flying around the screen.
what? no, I definitely did NOT just spend 4 hours working on a laser only to scrap it and do it in a different way. that would be stupid, right?
nope, I definitely spent 4 hours trying to make a laser follow the player. I was really close, but I scrapped it. I dont need to waste any more time on that. So now the laser just rotates around and alternates and speeds up. It’s like a mini boss fight.
Don’t mind the debug numbers above the turret, I was using those for testing.
So next up is more traps for Professor Calloway to spring on you, and also a Professor Calloway boss fight hopefully. I’m off to bed now, good luck to everyone else!

so Professor Calloway is in his Mech, where he shoots you and then charges you like a bull. This boss fight is gonna be great!
God, that was more difficult than it needed to be. I wasted lots of time on the same problems (I’ll talk about it in a Post-Mortem) but I’m finally done.
Note: My game requires that you download GMS2 to run. http://www.yoyogames.com/get2

So I have a lot of ideas for very small games with this theme, but I don't want to use my entry on something that small. Is there any rule against making a mini game collection like mario party or something along those lines?
My game is complete. It ended up as probably my best and most polished game ever, especially for a LD game. I am glad I was able to compete in this LD, almost 6 years after my first.
