Post Mortem

After my very first jam last weekend, I have mixed feelings:

1) I am very relieved it is over as the intensity of the very limited time drained me both emotionally and physically.

2) I feel very proud of our game and my part in it (graphics + audio design + 50% game design) and I have inspiration to keep on designing it further afterwards.

Btw I love these brown gown monk/druid "towners"! I am happy they emerged during their re-design process. I will show the original characters in my next post.

New intro for our game

Having fallen in love with our Towners and Downers, I decided to create an animation still after the publication of the game. I sketched out frames for this animation during the creative process of the game with idea for this to be part of it.

It was very fun to learn to make animation by doing it and with crucial technical help from my brother. Here it is!

Smartphone support + Golden Bot Challenge!!

challenge_goldenbot.jpg

The game supports smartphone browser!

This is due to our 1-button control scheme. We started with a 2-button control scheme but opted out of it for simplicity to make sure the game can be explained and understood as easily as possible. This smartphone support is coincidental but very welcome side-effect!

Golden Bot Challenge!

Having mastered our own game I am happy to announce a new meta challenge for the game - Golden Bot Challenge! To make the game more difficult you're supposed to build a full bot with only gold parts and win the game without selling it! PRO TIP: The collected bots and parts stay until the next days ;-)

I am excited to discover new ways to enjoy our dear new game! And without any actual modifications to the game itself!

Have you found new and unintented ways to play your game?
