Yes… this will do…

Hello, this is my first LD I’m participating in.  I’m going to be using my MacBook Air with Pixen, Pixelmator, musagi, Blender 2.57a, Flash Builder 4, flixel (fresh from github), github, and cfxr 0.2.  Maybe Python 2.7 with PyCharm for tooling.  Should be a good time, let’s see where I get.

edit: Out with musagi, in with Garageband.  i’m also planning on livestreaming the whole ordeal over Justin.tv.

edit 2: if physics comes into play, I’ll use box2dflash. Also, I’m going to capture a time lapse video with ScreenNinja.

LD23

Yeah why not

I’m going to see where I get in this one. I have to work tomorrow and MLG is on. I wasn’t planning on entering this time, but I figure it would be fun to enter anyway.

I’m going to use SublimeText 2, Rails, JawsJS, CoffeeScript, cfxr, PyxelEdit, iDraw, Pixelmator, SourceTree, Blender, and Twitter Bootstrap. Because every project should start with bootstrap. 😛

I’m going to record a timelapse with ScreenNinja, but I won’t be streaming it :(

GG and GL to everyone :)

edit: changed my stack; abandoning flash

LD25

I’m in, maybe

I don’t know if I’ll be able to go for the whole weekend, as I have to work and such, but if I like the theme and get a good idea, who knows.

Either way, I’ll be using EaselJS for HTML5/JS development along with SublimeText 2, TextEdit, Google Chrome, Pixen, iDraw, Pixelmator, cfxr, Tiled, Blender, SourceTree with Github, and whatever else crosses my path. I hope to bleepers that I don’t need a fancy physics library. Box2Dweb and ChipmunkJS work, but I don’t trust them. I feel like they leak all my memories onto the floor.

Anyway, let’s have a good theme and I hope everyone has a good time. 😀

EDIT:  I have an idea!! I’m going to use Rails, Backbone.js, and Twitter Bootstrap to make it.  It might be cool.

I’m in

Okay I wasn’t planning on participating, but I thought of a pretty cool idea for the theme and I’m going to give it a shot.  Plus, I want to try out TypeScript for gamedev.  Game idea + something I want to try = I’m in for some Ludum Dare!

My tools:

– Visual Studio Community Edition for IDE
– Node.js for web server
– TypeScript/HTML5
– Phaser for game framework
– bfxr.net for sound
– iA Writer Pro for notes
– Pixen for pixel art
– iDraw for vector art
– My Ludum Dare 25 entry codebase for its platformer controls: https://github.com/themindoverall/abhorrent

Progress: Art is ready, time to start coding

Mockup2x

My work has been spent doing the graphics that I’ll need so far.  Here is a little preview.  This bottle will serve as the game’s one screen.  How claustrophobic!

I’m in

Didn’t think I’d participate in this one, but I thought of an interesting game idea for this theme  so I’m going to jump in a little late anyway.  We’ll see how far I can get with it.

I will be using Blender and MonoGame.  This is my first time using 3D in XNA/MonoGame — should be interesting.  Not gonna livestream, but I’ll capture a timelapse with Chronolapse.

Wish me luck.

LD 42

in for 42

Gonna use godot, aseprite, and blender - or just TIC-80 depending on the theme. Have fun everyone!

I have an idea!

I posted I was "in" before, but sometimes with these things if I can't think of a good concept for the theme then that's that. But not this time! I'm in in -- I have an idea that I like! It's called iFRAG: A Hard Drive Story. I'm pretty happy with the concept so far. I'll follow up when I have the details down more. Going to start working on a mockup then into Godot with it. Good luck everyone!

edit: I'm using Autodesk Graphic to do the art / mockup

Let's go

I'm planning on using:

  • Godot
  • Blender
  • Aseprite
  • tldraw.com for keeping everything organized

Progress

Hey we're getting somewhere!

I started with some brainstorming and got an idea for a puzzle platforming game. notes.png

I decided to go with a browser game and just rolled with Bun.js. I've got it playable with all the platforming and puzzle mechanics, gamepad support, and deployed on Github.

Still lots of polishing to do, but I'm happy so far!
