LD 40

My entry for this LD: Ecstasy of Gold

title.PNG

Hey guys! My game for this LD is called Ecstasy of Gold. I'm very proud of it and hope that you all play and have some fun with it!

Check it out at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/ecstasy-of-gold

Please, don't forget to leave your feedback and rate it!

Note: The original submission is the Windows version, but many people were just checking the page and not downloading it, so I created a WebGl build. Unfortunately, it has a slightly worse graphics quality, so it can run smoothly in a browser.

Some insights on how I've made my 3D platformer for LD40

Hey everyone, I've wrote a post about how I've made my game for this last LD40.

You can read it here:

Also, if you haven't played it yet, do it and rate it ^^

Another LD Complete. "System Override" is out now!

Hey guys!

Another Ludum Dare that I've managed to complete and deliver a game. You can check it at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/system-override.

I'm proud of what I've done, since I wasn't that confident on my idea and gameplay choices. During Sunday I was still deciding core gameplay mechanics and implementing important parts of the gameplay. However, my code was misteriously well done in a way that those changes didn't take too much effort.

In this game I've tried to mix a puzzle game with an FPS. You are part of a program and must breach into a system. You receive tips from your main program in the form of a sequence of colors and sounds, and you must kill enemies that have the same colors, in the same order that you receive the tips.

This was a very difficult theme for me, since I think that many incompatible game genres have already been mixed until now. So on a first thought there wasn't too much to do that wasn't already done. Or it was just me feeling uninspired :P (it was a tiring week at my job). During saturday, until late in the afternoon, I wasn't sure of what puzzle I would mix. At that time I was only sure that I would mix an FPS with a puzzle game, but didn't know which one. That idea came around noon. Usually, I spend Friday night to create the main game idea, Saturday to implement all mechanics and Sunday for the art assets. This LD was very different from that but I've managed to deal with it in a (mostly) successful way.

I hope you all play it and have fun with it. Please, don't forget to leave your feedbacks in the comments section. I usually read them once a day and use them to improve the game in future versions.

Tks! o/

System Override UPDATE

Hey everyone!

Just to inform you that my game for LD41, System Override, has been updated. You can check all the details at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/games/system-override.

Please, for evaluation purposes consider only the original version. The updated version has been built only for Windows and is available at https://thiagofredes.itch.io/system-override, with the _x86_post_ld suffix, to differentiate it from the original.

I intend to update it every now and then because I'm finally starting to like my game! ^^"

I have new ideas coming up and hope to implement them soon.

Hope you all have some nice play'n'rate weeks! o/
