LD 39

I'm In!

Didn't realize that LD39 is this weekend. Well, I'M TOTALLY IN!

Tools: - Engine: Unity 2017.1 - Graphics: InkScape, Blender, Photoshop - Music: LMMS / Bosca Ceoil - SFX: Bfxr, LabChirp, Audacity

I hope I can make it this time.

Missed the compo, jam is your friend

I missed the compo because I fell asleep and overslept. However, I still managed to finish my game.

This is my very first 3D game. There are so many things that I learned from Ludum Dare this time. I just learned Blender in a week but I'm pretty satisfied with what I could do with it.

If you want to try the game, it is here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/winding-woods

My 3rd Ludum Dare and my first 3D game

For Ludum Dare 39, I want to try something new. I want to try to make a 3D game because I usually made 2D games. I learned Blender to model in a week, I am pretty satisfied with what I can do with Blender, but of course I still need to learn a lot.

Well, this is my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/winding-woods

Back to Ludum Dare, Learning New Engine

After skipped three Ludum Dare, finally I can get back to do it now!

And here is a little progress about my game.

The game is simple. You need to trap those purple circle things to progress to next waves. However, if you try to trap the purple thing, the arena will become smaller because of your trapper wall thing.

To be honest, this game sucks lol. I still love the idea, though.

Eventhough my game is not that fun, but what I look for the most during Ludum Dare is the learning experience.

On today Ludum Dare, my aim is to learn Godot Engine. I've been wanted to learn this engine for so long but never got the time to do that. Ludum Dare is the perfect chance for me to do this.

Therefore, I ended up using my time for learning, reading the documentations, googling here and there, etc. And yes, I learned a lot and I'm more comfortable using this engine now.

Good luck, everyone. Remember, eventhough your game is not that great. You will still get the more valuable learning experience.

Missed the Compo

I initially want to get my game submitted to compo, but the deadline was 5 AM for me. I fell asleep and when I woke up it was 6 AM. And now I'm having a headache, it is painful.

I think I will take a break first. After that, I will make some music and finish it with title screen and how to play screen. Then, submit it for jam.

I think I'm sick

So, I got a headache. It hurts and I think I will cut my works.

Finished this ugly title screen and an instruction page.

I think I will not make the music and opt-out the sound rating and just finish my game like this. My head really hurts.

Everyone, stay healthy! Don't forget to take a break.

Don't be like me.

Progress Day 1

It's been a while since my last ludum dare.

For now, it's simple. The weapon will change every 10 seconds.

This will do for today. I plan to create a lot of weapon type to make it more fun to play. And of course more variety of enemies.

All Basic Stuff Done

The base for my game is done.

Now I need to add more weapon and enemy variants.

I can't say it's finished. Still very rough art and annoying music. I didn't have time to dedicate myself to Ludum Dare, but I still wanted to join. So, here it is.

It was fun. It's been a while since the last time I made a game.

Next time I will try to spare more time for LD!

(It's midnight here, and I need to go to work tomorrow, hence the early submission)
